My question is what happens when you buy something from an Ebay buyer and the article comes but is not as described. Here's the story:
I had bought 2 box sets of "The Office" seasons 1-5 DVDS from a seller from PEI. They went for $50 US per set BIN, so with shipping, it worked out to about $120 CDN. He had advertised them as brand-new and not bootlegs. When they arrived, the box was shrink-wrapped, but upon removing the wrapping and opening the box, it was obvious that they were used. No problem, still a great price. But a few of the discs had heavy surface wear on them. I contacted the vendor asking for replacements but he suggested that I bring them to Blockbuster and they would fix/resurface them for a couple of bucks and he would refund me. I checked and BB said that the cost would be $3 per disc. I figured a refund of $15 (4 discs + tax) was fair. When I went to contact him, I discovered that he was NARU! My emails to him remain unanswered!
So what happens if I file a complaint - item receved not as described? Will Ebay respond or am I SOL? Not a big deal either way, but trying to gauge if there is any use in filing.
Thanks in advance!
