Eddie Shack has passed away

Very sad to hear that Eddie has left us. So many great memories of a personality so much larger than life, he will be greatly missed.
Dan.

Met Eddie a few times. He's got great stories and some I'm sure he would love to forget....Nobby Lambert comes comes mind for those from Newfoundland. Last time I talked to him, his words was " You Newfies can "bleeping " drink. What a true character and last of his kind....If I had a Pop Shoppe soda I'd hoist it

RIP Eddie

Sunday was a sad say for me as I heard about the passing of Eddie Shack. I drove a bus for the Toronto Transit Commission from 1977 to 1994. Cedarbrae Mall is located at Markham Road and Lawrence Ave in Toronto. Every Christmas Eddie Shack would set up his Christmas trees for sale on the north east corner of that mall and when I would service the bus stop you could see and hear him singing his little jingle. He always had a smile.

In the early 80's on my birthday I went with family and friend to The Underground Railroad for a dinner and Eddie was there. when he found out is was my birthday he sang Happy Birthday to me. I will remember that night for ever.

When I moved to B.C the NHL Oldtimers came to town and Eddie Shack was the Referee for the event and before the game there was a meet and greet so I told him these stories and he was happy to hear them.

RIP Eddie and thank you for the memories!

I remember he was the spokesperson for Pop Shoppe. And I think that Henri Richard was involved also.
