One of the best of our generation in the ring has been forced to retire due to health broblems from the broken neck he suffered years ago.

here is the video from RAW

After Smackdown went off the air last night there was a huge celabration for him were the wrestlers came to the ring.

Thanks for the link. A buddy had told me about this but I forgot to check it out. Too bad, he was one of my favourites to watch.

Definitely one of my favorites of this generation when I was still watching wrestling. Sad to see him have to leave due to injury.

I finally sat down and watched the video last night...apparently all my buddies knew but this thread was the first I saw of it.

What a loss for sure. Edge has been one of my favorite wrestlers year in year out since I was in my teens. The fact that he was able to transition into whatever the company threw at him flawlessly is always the mark of a good company man, and whether he was dropped from the world championship stage to US title, or to Tag Team or whatever, I never heard stories of him ever being difficult or anything but gracious in the opportunity...almost to a fault (the whole Matt Hardy/Lita/Edge thing still sticks out to me as one of the most awkward angles in history, and it caused at least one job loss and a retirement at the end of it.) Sucks to see a dude go that could just bring it as well as he did. Seems like easy inclusion into the Hall of Fame to me now.

Wow... wasn't aware of this as I haven't been watching WWE for a while. I bump into Adam every once in a while here in town (Orangeville is his hometown, not Toronto like they tell you on the WWE) and other than being an obviously recognizable celebrity around the world, he is extremely down to earth and just a regular guy. I'm glad he got out before he got to the point where he couldn't function, though you have to feel for a superstar any time they have to retire before they think they are done.

Wish him all the best, and maybe we'll see him a bit more around town now, though he seems to prefer sunny Florida more than cold Orangeville!

Edge has always been one of my favourites. His TLC matches at Mania were epic. I will fully admit to marking out huge when he won the WWE Title from Cena at New Year's Revolution. Glad that he's getting out now with most of his health intact. Thanks for the memories!
