I am trying to put together a nice little spreadsheet to track my collection, but I am not sure exactly how I should set it up. I am trying to avoid leaving something important out and then having to go back and add it to every card. How are your guy's spreadsheets set up?.. and if anybody wouldn't mind, if you could send an example of yours to glennism@gmail.com it would help me out a lot! Thanks!!:)

LOL, that's funny because I am trying to learn the same thing on the excel spreadsheet to keep data up for my Dirk Collection....I think if you go on Microsoft.com they hav tutorials for that kind of stuff, or I am sure somewhere online is a tutorial for it, which I have to find sometimes, just haven't had the time to!!

When I make mine im gonna have one section for year, set name, if the card is #d parrallel section, book value, latest sell value's, if its a patch, gu, or auto, and if it is a patch how many colors....very detailed I would say lol

If you need any help with the coding just drop me a pm. I know most of the formulas for calculating numbers/percentages.. if you need any of that stuff for cards lists. This is how I would set it up.

Player / Team / Company / Year / Set / Number / Price / Other

Alexander Ovechkin / Capitals / Upper Deck / Series 2 / #443 / $200.00 /(/200)

wouldn't access be better?

then if you got ambitious you could use the database to drive a website :)

It doesn't have that on the options, but all you gotta do is get the CD Collection up and change some of the fields etc which I did, set it out like this:

Set Name/Type/Parrellel #/Sell Value/Description

I just copy the data from Beckett's My Collection feature, then go to Paste Special --> Text in Excel. It will give you the list nicely sorted in Excel. By having two columns "Have" and "Need" it makes it easy to calculate percentages and such. I use different highlighting colours for cards I need, have incoming, and have in my PC.

If I knew anything about access I might give it a shot.. but I think I have opened access once or twice in my life and it stayed open about 10 seconds :)

Acces also allows you to insert a field for photos, just scan your cards and insert into that field. If you really want to go reeaal deep into it and later incorporate it into a website, this would be a cool feature.
