fake "IP" autos

I must say, the autos themselves look pretty close to the real thing. Problem is that they're too good. IP autos, especially on hockey cards tend to be a bit sloppy and all over the place when compared to their regular autos.

Also take into account the 2 Crosby autos and the Kane which are from a BAP base... didn't that come out just a few weeks ago? He must have done a hell of a lot of "stalking" and traveling to get these autos while these guys were in the middle of the playoffs

Given that I semi-regularly see fake Neely autos "IP" or "TTM" i tend not to trust any I see on eBay.
I can't say one way or another, BUT

This guy really got up next to Tiger, Tony AND Phil Esposito, Sydney, Carey, Jagr...and so on ? Got to them at good enough times to get clean autos?
I'm not sure how I feel about that really...

I also read that Crosby doesn't sign cards because of his deal with Upper Deck. I don't think that means he only signs cards in person made by upper deck..

These are all fakes that hes selling. He lives in New Brunswick, how would he be getting these autos anyways, especially Tiger woods?

Although I can't prove they are fakes, I'm pretty positive that they are considering how perfect the auto's are, the selection of card used, the high level of players that signed, the quality of the pics used, and most importantly the low rep of the seller.....it all adds up to a scam!

you never buy IP autos from anyone anywhere is where this convo is pretty much going....Without the proper paper work every auto is a fake...

i am absolutly positive teh crosby is fake, he never,,,, never signs TTM i hae lost a couple cards that way before i wised up and along with that i agree with everyone else. to perfect of cards and to coincidental that all those high profile players signed IP.

The Tony Esposito is obviously a right handed persons attempt at faking a left handed signature - if you look at the T you will see a pause in the motion of it, which Esposito wouldn't have

Fake fake fake

that crosby is way off and so is the getzlaf, plus crosby's in person auto now doesnt look like his auto on his cards, same with fleury..

Not true. If you can ascertain the guy has been a legitimate hounder for a long period of time, you can get some great autographs at great prices.

We picked up an amazing collection of autographs done in the 80s and early 90s by a fellow who worked for the CBC -- more than 12,000 signatures. Of course, we triple-checked the information and have no doubts to the authenticity of the signatures.

Those examples are few and far between, and almost non-existent for current players.

IP's are very tough to purchase.
I have about 1,000 IP autos, and if I sent in any of my 9 IP Brodeur RC's to get authenticated I would say one maybe two TOPS would get the ok, yet I witnessed them ALL get signed, it's just amazing how different one autograph can be.

With fakes you can often tell if it's perfect. I got a signed Toews/Kane/Campbell photo IP earlier this year and the Toews doesn't look like his cards much at all.

I will probably never part with my IP stuff, the sentimental value is higher than the cash I would get.

Signature is so easy to fake, i have friend who could do any sig with 5mins practice and since i have seen what he can do IP autos are worthless for me.

hi there .

i fully agree with you i have at least 1000 ip autos some multiples and some autos don't look the same , i mostly collect the first round prospects when they come thru kelowna so there autos change a lot once they get to the ud contracts . then i would also say there seem to be a lot of fakers out there now days .

As sloppy a signature Kane gives he's actually very consistent with it...that card is just off in so many ways.

It's also quite telling when he only has high profile players listed.
