Fake ? Real ?

Just came across this on ebay. I know sometimes players can be sloppy with thier autos but this guy as one of the nicer autos in the nhl from new guys and this just looks off to me. Not trying to start a war here just looking for some comments.

How expensive is PSA/DNA testing? Is it cost prohibitive for items like these?

He could either be banking on someone NOT trying to get it certified, or could be forging and confident his autos could hold up.

Last, the Kings were in Pittsburgh recently enough (late February, IIRC), so there could be nothing wrong with this at all. His weak feedback seems to be mostly from holiday shipping and poor communication - not fake autos.

My vote goes for real, looks like he was just in a hurry, the first "J" has a very distinct form...

I'm going to lean on the side of real, but rushed. The first J has his distinctive swoop and the "3" looks accurate as well. Not his best, but after thousands of stellar autos, the guy could rush one.

It may or may not be real, but there's no way that passes any sort of authentication. That is a massive rush job if it is legit.

If it doens't come with LEGITIMATE paper work you have to pass on it.........

I wouldnt buy anything autographed on ebay (unless it was issued from manufacturer like UD, Topps etc...)

Way to many fakes out there and anyone can print up their own COA.
Best bet is to try from a legit/established business that has a good rep like frozenpond or AJ Sports World. I only name these 2 places because they are fairly close to me.


The auto does look a bit real, but not real enough for me to drop some money on it. And according to PSA/DNA website, it is going to cost $20 to get it authenticated. Plus I would imagine you would have to pay for shipping both ways which you have to ship USPS or FedEx, no other way is accepted by them.

If you ever want a Jack Johnson autoed jersey send it to me. Ill ask him to sign it nice and crisp right after practice. Real or fake who wants a crappy looking auto when you know the guy has one of the nicest autos.

It's more than likely real as it looks like it was rushed probably from waiting outside for the guy to go to the team bus.

Had he forged it it's more than likely that you would get a pristine looking autograph.

The price reflects that it was done in person and not at show or signing.

However, based on his feedback with his poor trading practices I wouldn't buy from him.
