I've collected comics off and on since I was a wee lad, which usually centered around the toys I played with around the time--GI Joe, Transformers, M.A.S.K., that sort of thing. Then I "outgrew" them, then started back again when I was older. Picking up things like Lady Death and Purgatori, because of their, err, well nevermind. Recently i've started picking up some older issues with Rhino on the cover.

I then remembered a little series called Battle Chasers. It had humor, fantasy, swords, and a war machine that could blow things up (though he had a conscience). And it had Monika, who much like Purgatori and Lady Death had, err, well nevermind.

I loved that series and was saddened to see it go away. So, what are some other short lived series that you all enjoyed?

Battle chasers was one of my favorite series, I am still trying to by a chrome #1. A few years ago I bought the 1st print HC and now its out of print and sells for decent coin. Another series I liked was "Sojourn" fantastic artwork and a great story. Crossgen (the company making it) went belly up and disney bought its rights. I am hoping they either finish the story or make it into a movie.

Battle Chasers for sure!

Joe Mad was (is) an amazing artist and that was such a fun series. There were only 9 issues but each and every one was just a great enjoyable read. Too bad it took him about 6 months to release issues 6, 7, 8 and 9.

That series was easily one of my fondest comic memories.

Count me in for Battle Chasers for sure, of course they took so long to come out I'm not even sure I got all of the issues as that's about when I stopped collecting. Of course there are others, I loved Stormwatch/Authority and all the add-ons from the Wildstorm universe - without a doubt my favourite comic book universe. I also remember the CrossGen stuff, that was my first foray into just buying the TPB's, I was collecting way too many series at the time, so I just picked up the TPB's when they came out, now where did I hide those???

Hm....tough call.

Hepcats is a shortlister...as is Buck Godot....Johnny the Homicidal Maniac....

Scud, but Schrab's finally finishing that.

Preacher and Bone are a few other series that ended that were fantastic. I don't think we have seen the last of Sandman, Preacher or bone, there will be a more of them. There is a big difference in series that ended mid storyline then those that finished and the creators decided to end it.

Ennis has stated more than once that Preacher isn't being revisited. He did what he wanted to do with that book. He continues to do new things (The Boys - awesome...) and play with ideas.

Actually, there was a recent Hitman revival that I was darn glad and entertained to read.

Wow. I have been out of comics for wayyyyyyyyy too long. The only title mentioned here that even rings a bell is "Sandman".....

Whatever happened to Spidey and Batman? LOL

Spidey and Batman continue to chug along.

Spiderman is in the middle of the big SKrull storyline and had some interesting things happen to him over the past few months. I won't mention them just incase you decide to read them (try the TP) but I will say they could write a good country song about him.

Batman never seems to change. They just finished the big resurection of Ra's storyline, its decent. They are trying to bring Batman's son into the comic, he seems to be slowly getting into the book.
