I thought to raise this discussion to here too in case someone has a point I'm missing.

So if we talk about a comparable, say, HobbyInsider. You have 250 feedback score here with nothing but positive. What does that mean? Most likely you have shipped in time, your shipping prices are reasonable, you communicate well, you ship what you promise, cards are in great condition, you pack the cards well. Matters to people? For sure does.

Ok, so let's contrast this to ePack.
-You ship in time? Shipping is instant you even can't delay it after the deal is agreed.
-Your shipping prices are reasonable? What shipping prices?
-You communicate well? Well, ok, maybe this one.
-You ship what you promise? How could you even avoid this?
-Cards are in great condition? How does either part of trade know that?
-You pack the cards well? Like... how?

this is a really good point

the only thing I see of value from the feedback system is that you get a sense of who is actively trading or not. If I see a card I need with the user feedback of say 5 - I have a feeling it may be hard to commence a trade versus someone with a feedback of 500

other than that - the stars and number of trades dont mean much

For me I rate a 5 for any accepted trade, I will rate a 1 only for deals that are so wildly stupidly proposed and far fetched or when someone is being a complete jerk.

I've never looked at a rating though and thought, hmmm maybe I shouldn't deal with this person.

That's pretty much the only thing I use it for too, just gives me an idea of "will this person actually respond?" and if it's a low feedback I typically just move on unless it's something I want

Of course leaving feedback is painful if you're a frequent trader... first have to click on the trade which takes a few seconds to load, then click on the really small star icons to choose the rating (which is hard to click accurately on say a phone), then click yes I really do want to rate this trade, then click to go back to the main trades screen. Depending how fast or slow ePack site is, this can take like 15 seconds per trade... in the peak trading days when a new Compendium release comes out and I'm doing a hundred or more trades a day, it's excruciatingly painful to spend 20-30 minutes monotonously rating trades. I just can't be bothered to do it anymore... if all we use it for is activity why can't UD just give accepted trades 5 stars automatically and just have a way to report obnoxious people?

Same, I use it for this purpose as well. If i see someone with very low feedback with a card I need, I'll still send an offer, but I know that I may not get a response that quickly if they only check their ePack on a non-regular basis, versus the traders who has a lot of feedback, I know I'll probably hear back from them much sooner because they'll probably be online soon.
