Okay here is the situation. Field one team, a player for every position (only one starting picture) with players from the 80's and 90's. You can name a DH and one relief picture. Consider hitting, fielding etc...it can be a team full of the best players or just some of your favorite players.

your team isn;t right at all for the question at hand...80's and 90's players. Ichiro's MLB rookie year was 2001.

WHOA there, might want to rephrase that reply there partner!
How about "Ichiro wouldnt fit in there for this question." To say the team isnt right at all is foolish as everyone else would fit. Technically, Gagne was a rookie is 2000, but made his first appearance in 1999. If THAT isnt acceptable as an answer, I would use Jose Mesa from the Mid 90's. I would replace Ichiro with Raul Mondesi from his mid 90's form. No better arm from the OF since Clemente. While

DOH!
I just got an email from Al Gore. He had this to say to me:

the best arm in the league isn't Ichiro....and def isnt Mondesi....right now its gotta be Vlady

How about reading what I said. Mondesi FROM HIS MID 90's FORM.
Mondesi drew more comparisons to Clemente than any player ever has, including Vlad. Vlad is just a WAY better hitter. I already have Vlad on my team.
Why do you care anyhow? This is MY team.

Did Al Gore really send you that Tom? hahahaha...

just a side not to all this no one should have to justify why they picked certain people....it is like fiecomicguy1 said just for fun :) , on my picks I may have choosen differently but I wanted to post some names that were different then others who were above average players of their time. I got to put a prop in now for Sweet Lou, Someone go look up Lou Whitaker batting records and compare them to any HOF'ers at same position, not to mention how smooth he was at second base with Tram at shortstop. Best story I have on Whitaker is the 83 All Star game I believe could be wrong on the year but right on the player. Whitaker stuff didn't make it Chicago for the All Star game and he had to go across the street to a vendor and buy a make shift jersey shirt of the English D, borrow some white cleets, and pants...was the funniest looking stuff I have seen.

at their primes:

P: Randy Johnson
C: Ivan Rodriguez
2B: Roberto Alomar
SS: Derek Jeter
3B: Wad Boggs
OF: Kirby Puckett
OF: Ken Griffey Jr.
OF: Vlad Guerrero

DH: Tony Gwynn
