after a very long debate, i have decided to break up my marc andre fleury collection. i made it to 78% complete, but the remaining cards i have to get to 100% are all parallels and most are numbered /10. it would be very very difficult for me to get the last 22% i need. it was fun while it lasted, but at the same time, it cost me alot of money. i cant believe it, but over the past 3 weeks, i havent purchased a single fleury card! i didnt think quitting would be that easy!

now i am keeping some of my favorites, as well as all of his "true" rookie cards. but all of the parallels and what not are slowly going to be gone. thanks to all of the great board members who helped me get the collection to what it is at today.

if there are any fleury collectors out there that read this, and you need some cards for your collection, feel free to either PM me or email me and i will give you a list of what i have available. you can also check out my website with a list of everything to see what you need that i may have.

now what exactly am i going to collect now that my fleury collection is gonna be gone???
i am going to move towards actual jerseys and sticks. no more of the little cut up pieces and sticker autographs for me. eventually i would like to buy a fleury game worn jersey (if i could ever find one). but i could also use a few more crosby jerseys, and wouldnt mind adding a malkin or two to my collection.

again, thanks to all who helped me get my collection to what it is at today, but for now, i am officially done buying cards. if i do see something that i really like in the upcoming years, then i will buy it, but no longer will i buy every fleury card i see. fleury is still my favorite player, but when the demand for a player's cards is so high, your wallet really starts to hurt. :(

Man....you put too much pressure on yourself. You don't need 100% of his cards.

Relax, enjoy, and just slow down. Take a break, whatever. But something you are this passionate about, you shouldn't just quit. The collecting bug won't go away.......it will haunt you.

Seriously....you CANNOT attain 100% of a players cards these days. Just can't be done realistically. (1/1's, 1/5's, etc)

The moral here is enjoy what you have........and keep enjoying the hobby for years to come, within your means and budget.

Good luck.....with whatever you decide!

Just because you can't find any Fleury's,doesn't mean you have to give up on him.Hold off on him for a while and find another player..The Pens should have a lot of new players coming up through their system (Whitney,Armstrong,Malkin, etc.)

LIke Kev said, relax with the Fleury's for awhile and collect something else and by and by,you might find a Fleury or two.I'm only starting out with Sakic and finding new ones are getting harder and harder, but I'm not giving up.

Good luck with whatever choice you make.

Just a heads up here is a site with 2 game worn fleurys:
http://www.pittsburghhockey.net/Common/open.html
They have a WBS for $1500 & Pens for $3000(might be gone already)

They also have a game used stick for $300 on the stick page.
