Flames Acquire Conroy from the Kings

Going to be interesting to see who ends up where during the trading of players. I got a hunch on a few but will hope I am wrong.

Thanks for the info:

Craig Conroy is heading back to Calgary.

The Flames acquired Conroy from the Los Angeles Kings on Monday in exchange for Jamie Lundmark, a fourth-round draft choice in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and a second-round draft choice in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

I wonder if Langkow will give up #22 for him? ;)

Wow...I'm really not sure this is the best decision. Conroy is having a terrible year and isn't fast enough to keep up nowadays. Don't get me wrong, I loved the guy when he played for us and the cup run with him was marvelous but I think the magic is gone.

Is he going to be the third line centre with Amonte? Lombardi and Langkow are both far superior.

Only time will tell, though. Go Flames!

im pretty sure he'll be reunited with Iginla..
that's probably the main reason why sutter did the trade....

i predict
Iginla-Conroy-Tanguay
Amonte/Lombardi?-Langkow-Huselius
Amonte-Lombardi?-Kobasew
Ritchie/Yelle/Nilsson
friesen/mccarty

a good pick up by the flames--he can still play and will bring some leadership qualities both on and off the ice...
I always liked conroy he is awesome with the fans!!!
Hm who will be the next to get traded?

If nothing else it will send a message to some of the vets on the top 3 lines that some of their playing time might be in jeopardy. The effort Sunday versus the Blackhawks was brutal.

You can look at this trade two ways.

1. The Flames intend to put Conroy on one of their lower lines and acquired him for his leadership. If this is the case (and it isn't), then this trade was awful for the Flames.

2. The Flames intend to put Conroy on their first line with Iginla. If this is the case (and it is), then this trade was a steal for the Flames.
