Lets pretend you have $500 USD or CAD to spend..
You want to buy yourself some wax.
With this budget what do you buy and why?
I have a list but wanted to see what others thought about it.

I just took roughly that amount and bought myself a PC card last night that I’ve wanted for a long time. Does that count? lol

I don’t think there is a single box out there I would spend $500 on when I could buy myself a nice PC single. But I’m not as much of a gambler as I used to be.

I agree with Frozen Inferno & I actually just bought a 1/1 Buster Posey (My favorite player & team The Giants) it cost a bit more than $500 though

I always do put something for myself under the tree.

With that budget, for me it would have to be a game worn jersey of some goalie I am still after, but if I've got to keep it to cards, I usually buy two or three boxes of various years so that it feels like gifts within a gift, a Russian Nesting Doll of hockey card goodness.

You open the wrapping paper and boom, there is a box of cards. You open the packaging and then boom, there are a bunch of packs. Then you open the packs and there is all the shiny goodness that cards have to offer.

I busted a box I came across about four years ago and it's one of the funnest breaks I've ever had. I wish I had grabbed the few other boxes of it the seller had (and had the foresight to know a boom was on the horizon).

There are a couple of Modano patch cards on ebay right now that would eat up a good portion of that. Not a card, but there are some game worn Klesla pants on ebay right that aren't super expensive.

08/09 ITG BTP. I busted more cases of that product than I have anything else EVER. I’d love to bust more (if I could find any).

I would transfer that money to my COMC account, $500 US would snag me a whole lotta nice things there. Or I would wait until OPC Platinum hits epack and the race to the bottom happens on COMC. You'd be surprised at the haul you could score with that kind of moolah.

No clue if I could even afford a box with that money, but 06-07 SP Authentic is a guaranteed great time. Two years of hits are AOK in my book.

WWE Undisputed were nice cards and a hit a pack at about $240 a box, so if SPA wasn't available, I'd do two of those.

A third option would be a Book of ITG Superlative, which up to a few months ago you would see the odd one pop up for under $500. Guaranteed great hits in every book, regardless of which release you got.

One of the best ITG releases ever and the one and only product I actually opened a sealed case of. The Super-Sized Pads were amazing and are still one of my favorite all-time memorabilia sets. Wish I still had the ones I collected back then

Cool thread! Wax is a no go for me since even with the increase in prices, certain companies continue to produce absolute trash boxes, but don't worry no rant here. That being said I would spend the money on adding to my Kyler Murray and Rams collection which hasn't been touched in years.

Back in the day, 500.- would go a long way on the low-end Black Friday deals.

December was practically an Advent Calendar of wax.

These days I don't stray too far from the things I'm already working on, so MVP & OPC boxes for the most part. A cool bonus use of mad money would be an old favorite Pacific or ITG product.

A few years ago you could have bought a case of the 15-16 Champs for that price. They go for about $120/per box now through DA cardworld.

If I had that $500…if I could get a box for around $100…Totally Certified…the newer version, not the 90’s. Good product, plenty of good stuff not pulled. THAT or McKinnon’s RC Select retail boxes. They had a over 50% chance of pulling a jersey auto for rc cards for me.

Pacific Private Stock is my crack of the day. I wish I could find more..

Only knock on champs were the minis.. I hated them but its a good product overall
