so looking at the back of any 13 14 ud the cup arp card at the very bottom you will see the year 2014
Gallagher now I know the cards were reproduced and on the bottom of the Gallagher it says 2017 and probably left it at that so you know its not the stolen or misplaced one

my question is how long does ud use photo shoot jerseys... do they call them game used in a years time............ these cards were made almost 3 years to the date and the back of the 2017 Gallagher says photo shoot when the card was made in 2017

I know to some people it might not matter but to some it does

The jersey/patch game is for suckers. Sorry to say it, but at this point, unless you're supporting Leaf or President's Choice, there's just NO provenance and authenticity to any of these "game used" pieces any more. Panini, Upper Deck and Topps have been duped (or been allowed to be "duped") by people who sold them items deemed to be "game used" and it turned out to be nothing more than store bought.

Yours is a great question. How much of that Gallagher photo shoot jersey has been used and how much remains? What will happen to the remaining amount? Will it "accidentally" end up in the game used pile? So long as UD can blanket out "this game used memorabilia has been certified to us as having been used in an official NHL game", you'll never really know.

I have no verifiable proof but I would not be surprised in the slightest that those rookie year photoshoot jerseys ended up in following years cards. UD isn't really trustworthy with their memorabilia and I wouldn't put it past them to be including the photoshoot jerseys into "game used" memorabilia cards in post-rookie cards.

How do you track provenance on ITG and Leaf cards?

Dr. Price keeps track of his memorabilia and won't buy without documented provenance. Without speaking for him, if anything ever came into question, he would have an immediate answer.

Ok sure, we trust that he is buying stuff that is good and placing that stuff in product. But as a collector I have no way of verifying the legitimacy of a patch and I suspect that Leaf has a whole lot of baggies with fabric and little to no provenance supporting whats in the bag. Bottom line is, for all companies we are trusting that the swatch is good. If any of them reall cared about provenance they could easily post their GU inventory, and where it came from.
