I am currently working on a game mod for an old DOS baseball game called Major League Manager, or MLM. I had played this game for many years when I was younger and recently found it online as abondonware. I am not new to making game mods however. I had previously made a roster mod for NHL06 on the PC:
http://www.nhldepot.net/ndforums/add-showroom/15444-nhl06-roster-project.html

I considered it a success because I had over 1000 downloads for it (full, upgrade and beta versions) and didn't get an F rating. I ended up killing the project because it took too much time. Imaging needing to keep track of all NHL, KHL, SM-Liiga, DEL and SEL league rosters. I had to use this crazy editor and also have a 5 subject notebook with all the rosters written out and fully updated. It was way too much work.

But now, I am working on this mod for MLM, and instead of using a notebook and roster editor, I am using cards in a binder! So I want to explain how the "leagues" are laid out:

- American League
- National League
- Old-Timers League
- Open League

Now, this game is actually very powerful. The best part is that you can not only create players, but you can also create teams. Created players and teams go into the Open League. You cannot create a player until you create a team. And the REAL best part is (and why this relates so close to cards) is how the player is created. You may have played a sports game before where you can create a player and you have to figure out some number between 40 and 99 to rate their skills. Well this is really tough to do! This game is ahead of its time! Instead of rating skills, you just type in their actual stats! It asks you about hits, at bats, home runs, etc. There are about 20 different things you can fill in. If you don't know, type in a zero or a random (I do this) number. The game figures out how good the player is based on this info. Amazing...

Ah now back to cards. I am running 3 binders on this project. One for the regular leagues, one for the "prospects" and one for the extra teams. Everyone in the AL and NL are players from 1989. Each team can have a maximum of 25 players, 10 pitchers and 15 batters. I am going to update each of the stock teams as I can based on the cards I have for them. Before I can do that, I need to take care of the Old-Timers League... There are currently a couple duplicate teams. I would like this league to be players from before 1989 (which they are) but to replace the extra teams with other teams. Here is a list of the duplicates.

Which of these teams should I change?
1927 Yankees
1961 Yankees
1977 Yankees

1955 Dodgers
1965 Dodgers

1935 Tigers
1968 Tigers

And which of these teams should replace them (2x Yanks, 1x Dodgers, 1x Tigers)
Orioles
Orioles
Brewers
Blue Jays
Angels
White Sox
Royals
Twins
Mariners
Rangers
Cubs
Expos
Phillies
Astros
Padres

And fwiw, These are the teams I am going to put in the open league:
Anaheim Angels (and LAA)
Arizona Diamondbacks
Buffalo Bisons
Colorado Rockies
Florida Marlins
Tampa Bay Devil Rays
Tampa Bay Rays
Washington Nationals
Washington Senators
Free Agents

The Senators may be a consideration as to what team to replace or add into the Old Timers League...

Sorry for such a long post, what do you guys think?
