Philipp Lahm ended Turkey's storybook run in the European Championship on Wednesday by scoring a late goal to give Germany a 3-2 semifinal victory.

With two goals in the final five minutes, the match could have gone either way.

But after three thrilling comeback victories in a row for Turkey, it was Germany's day.

Semih Senturk kept Turkey in the game with an 86th-minute equalizer, beating Jens Lehmann at the near post.

However, just a few minutes later, Bayern's Lahm collected the ball and shot it past Rustu Recber to unleash the joy of some 20,000 German fans at St. Jakob Park.

Germany is trying to win a record fourth title.

Just watched the hi-lites on the tv and was glad to see that Germany came out ahead....

Hell YEAH they will win that 4th title too, I had to go to work at 3:15 but recorded it on dvd, and just got done watching it from the point I left, very impressed this year by the team, I of course being from Germany have them going all the way!!!!

It was bs though that they had "TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES" for about 20 minutes of the game, it was almost the 20 most important minutes....

There were huge thunder storms in Vienna ( which closed the Fan Park and caused thousands of people to be evacuated ), this caused a power cut and hence why the TV pictures were lost for long periods of time.
