I live in Hamilton.

I have noticed a few brand new traders from Hamilton popping up on here (not so much piling on, I guess!!).

It's nice to see the hobby alive in our city. We have, in my opinion, two stores in the city which focus on sports cards; one up the mountain, one down the mountain. The one up the mountain has a huge selection of cards and wax, but is one of the most expensive joints on the PLANET! The store down the mountain is a little bit cheaper, but lacking in selection.

We have a collectibles show about once a month, and that is a bit more refreshing, but it is always the same dealers, and wax selection is limited. Luckily, the main wax seller (Len), is a great guy with great prices.

Just wanted to welcome all the Hamilton, Ontario boardies and wish you some great trades over the holiday season!!

I referred Rob (offsidesportscards) to this site a week or so back - he is also from Hamilton. It's funny that a City the size of Hamilton only has 2 stores. I have a number of case customers from Hamilton - they call, they order, they pay and the distributor sends the product directly to them.... Most are not members of HI or other trade-sites.

Funniest part is - I have some great customers from Hamilton (Rob included) and have never met them.

I've been to the one up the mountain, and one in the east end of hamilton, now I hope thats the two you were talking about? lol

Maybe one of these days I'll go to one of these card shows in Hamilton.

tallys on the mountain is expensive. the only thing i enjoy from that store is talking to gord sometimes about music (hes the guitarist for Teenage Head, R.I.P frankie venom).but if i walk buy and gords not working, i wont even stop in. never been to the one on lawrence, i will eventually. we've had many MANY card shops pop up then drift away since the late 80's. i can think of 10 or so off the top of my head.

whats talleys gonna do when that plaza is torn down? thats the plan as i understand it, construction is allready underway to make that mall a Supersized wallmart.

the show at michelangelos is ok, but it used to be way bigger and better. its lagging in quality now.

Yeah I go to Mohawk College and I always go to the plaza up there and happened to fine Talley's. Cant really afford anything though haha.

Yep, those were the two I was talking about. There have been a few others come and go for sure....

The show I speak of is the Michaelangelo's one. Easiest directions would be Upper Ottawa and Rymal, same side as the Harveys. Every Sunday or Monday of a long weekend.

The best bet for us Hamiltonians is still Len at the flea market in Brantford. Problem is his hours; 3:15 to 5:00 all week!!

I'm the same about Tally's; I stop and talk music with Gord, buy nothing, and go. O.K., sometimes one pack, to rid the guilt.

Some Tally's info: Tally actually sold the place to the grumpy old dude that works there. The current plan is to move across the street into one of those "store-front houses". Cheaper rent will hopefully equal better prices and attitude!!

Maybe I dealt with that "grumpy old dude" haha.
I went to buy toploaders and wanted to use my debit card, but he like freaked out on me cause it was only like 3.50, and *****ed about getting charged 21 cents. And I was going to the bank machine and getting charged $1.50 for taking out $20.. lol
If he would of told me nicely I would of let it go, but he was like "thats unacceptable, what the hell.. blah blah"
I was ready to to just drop everything and leave, and maybe toss him 21 damn cents, but I didnt. Havent gone back since, I guess he dont need my business.
