Hargreaves is quality - but where does he fit in ?

As already said, they have Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Ronaldo, O'Shea, Fletcher, Park in midfield - then they have to try and shoehorn in Rooney, Solksjaer, Smith or Saha

Everyone knows that Fergie went after Owen Hargreaves last summer - but the broken leg stopped it. However, a couple of years ago he went after Van Nistelrooy only for him to breakdown before the completion. He waited 12 months then went back for him - once Fergie has made his mind up, he gets his man !!

I think Man Utd's weakness is defence

When they lost Vidic & Ferdinand they were all over the place. They've had temprorary right backs most of the season after Gary Neville's injury and Heinze is a defensive liability ( AC Milan game for proof )

My only hope is that Liverpool come away with the Champions League tomorrow night

I'm hoping that Liverpool can pull it off as well...but we'll see...this is a tough Milan side and Kaka is in top form...

as for defence...yes, they need more depth there, but i think the addition of Hargreaves will help with any spotty defence left at midfield...
I would like them to also give Rossi a try...because frankly, i'm tired of Saha to be healthy....
 
they will play hargreaves and scholes in the center midfield. giggs and ronaldo on the wings.

carrick o shea and fletcher will only be substitudes for hargreaves, scholes and ronaldo. park will share left wing with giggs.

midfield and attack look strong.

defense is where they will get some more key players for sure.
 
I think United are still trying to find a replacement for Keane - somebody will will get them the ball back when not in possession and generally drive the team forward ( like Keane used to do ).

Last year they experimented with Alan Smith doing that role, until the unfortunate leg break. This year they played Scholes and Carrick together, which works wonderfully when things are going well - which for 99% of the season they did. But when the chips are down they struggled ( AC Milan for example ).

Can't believe all this talk about United - where's the Champions League talk ?

I am so nervous about tonight - will be sat around the TV with the Gerrard shirt on .............. come on you Reds !!
