Even on NBA.com they suggest that the Heat have shut down Marion and Wade to help get a better draft pick. Basically both have sore ankles and Marion is having some back issues (minor). Do you think it is right to be able to sit out your star players to help the teams chances at getting a better chance in the draft lottery?

Does it matter? They have a 5 game lead on the Sonics for worst in the NBA and there's only a few games left. Seattle can't catch them.

That's the good thing about the lottery. The worst team doesn't automatically get the top pick. When the Celtics finished at the bottom of the league, the Spurs won the lottery and ended up with Duncan :)

No matter how many games you have left it's not right, Wade has been out for a month or so and now Marion? No it's not right because you abandon all those fans that come to see your star players and pay good money to see them, especially season ticket holders.

So if you want your fans to abandon your team then yeah sit them out!

Or...if he plays injured with nothing to play for and aggravates the injury even more, you could lose him for part of next season.

There's pros and cons to sitting star players when you're that far out.

Like Florian said Wade has been sitting for a month and Marion was fine...where or when did this injury happen? Its obvious that they decided to tank around a month ago. I am not saying its wrong but its funny that in the player profiles on NMBA.com they mention that the heat are sitting these guys to increase their chances in the lottery.

Like I said sure they are helping their chances by getting a #1 or 2 pick, which I'm sure they would love to get Beasley, but they are abandoning the people that matters the most and that's their fans...

Yeah I hear ya. I guess the can say that they are doing it to make a better team for the fans for next year. Still an insult to the exsisting players.
