ok, i'm now in the hands of the paypal jury, an ebay
jerk (to put it nicely) issued chargeback/claim.

So, my question, i'm a negative $225, what happens
if I lose. Can paypal charge my credit card or take
from my bank account?

what if I just close the account?

any help/info would be appreciated.

Good afternoon C.J.I am not really sure how any of that works. But I do know taht I got taken by a person on another site.In my case I was the one that paid.I spent $100.00 for a card.Never received nothing. When I filed my claim with Pay Pal I got $2.25 back.So the theaf made out pretty well.Or at least I thought they did.Good luck to you with your problem.Thanks,Winston.

I've never heard of them being able to take it from your account or CC, almost positive they CAN'T!

Not sure, but I believe they can charge it to the CC or bank account if they have the account information on file. Further, I believe your account will be frozen from making any payments until it is resolved. Best of luck.

From my experience as long as you never plan on using the account again it will remain negative if you go an try to paypal someone else they take the negative and the amount you would be paying the next person.

I had a guy on the bay buy all my xbox stuff a few years ago for $800. I had proof of shipping and insurance but the kicker was the guy claimed the account info was stolen even though I got positive feedback. I didnt pay much attention and was paying for another winning auction and they emptied out my checking account... Had to get the law involved and the bank gave the money back not sure what happened to the jerk though. Just becareful and dont use the account until it is taken care of our you will be in for a bad christmas.. Hope this helps Chad

If you are linked to your bank account - you need to go to the bank 1st thing Monday morning and either remove your funds or tell your bank to not allow any electronic withdrawals.
I am not sure what Paypal's rights are as far as Credit Cards (and it is probably different from US to Canada) - but they do have the right to freeze your account - or at least the amount of the funds in question.

Did you send the item with tracking?????
And - if not - why?????
I would have to go back and read - but I also thought that Paypal required the seller to get Signature Confirmation for an amount above a certain level???
