I'll show off pictures of my progress soon, but I've embarked on a new project I call the "Endless Knockout Project" (name always up for debate...haha.)
Basically, I absolutely love the layout of the UFC Knockout base auto set. Clean, bright design...background isn't overtly busy and it's just a sharp looking and simple set...
...so I'm keeping the set going even after it's done, adding fighters I like or have the opportunity to meet to extend the set...I assume the set will go on till the end of time, which is fine by me as long as I'm still interested in it.
I've got a bunch of autos of guys I met over last weekend so it's off to a fantastic start. I've also got addresses from Carlos Newton and Duane Ludwig to get in touch with them, and Scott (crowncarrier) passed me along Sam Stout's contact info.
Now then is the next question -- How to continue on? I have 2 options:
1) Continue sending things TTM once Canada Post is up and running again.
2) Buying from previous base auto sets like Leaf and old UFC sets and switching stickers from one set to the other.
All the autos are for my own set, so it's not like I'd be pulling a fast one on anybody in doing the latter. The latter (especially from the Leaf set) would be a fairly inexpensive way to get a lot of guys whom I don't otherwise have contact information for (or are otherwise retired like Mike Guymon)...and probably a better way to get guys that would otherwise me hard to contact, like Mike Goldberg. There's also the option to just do the sticker thing now and try to get hard-signed autos in person later on down the road.
Any suggestions? btw, if you are interested in pics, don't worry...they're coming soon.
