Heroes case break #2

Hi again,

the only ugly part about this break was once again there was TWO Parkman costumes in the case which makes 4 for me now :curse:

the breakdown was 6 complete foil sets plus 4 dupes, 5 costume cards, 2 sketches, and 2 autos.... (yes there were 9 hits)

here are the costume cards other than the Parkmans which if you really need to see what Greg Grunberg looks like in a police uniform please check my other case break.

Claire Bennet red skirt variation, Isaac Mendez painting shirt with awesome splatter marks- very cool for me because case #1 had a Claire sweater variant

Hiro Nakamura 3 color shirt variant...that was cool because case #1 for me had his jacket variant

now the sketches....

an awesome Peter Petrelli by Ingrid Hardy- really great detail on that one and a decent sketch of I think Claire's friend Zach by Howard Shum....perhaps HIM could shed more light on that one as I'm definitely a sketch neophyte.

and finally the autos.....

Noah Gray-Cabey as Micah Sanders and Hayden Panettiere as Claire Bennet :dance:

friggin' ecstatic about the Hayden as that was the one card from this whole set that I really wanted when I saw it was being released. Now that I have her, Masi Oka, Adrian Pasdar and the Noah Gray-Cabey, I think I'll have to collect the other 6

Very cool stuff.. yet again.

Love the Hayden Auto, I've still not picked up a box yet, as knowing my luck I'll get a Parkman Costume Card which would probably be the one card that I wouldn't want :curse:

Hopefully you'll finish off the Auto Set easily... if you decide to go for it.

Hmm, are cards denoted as DP anymore these days (double printed). If so, maybe Parkman is one of those!

I'm glad you got that one. I wanted that one but I guess I can't be too greedy since I got my Megan Fox auto.

The Cartel has some fine ladies holding it down. When the 10,000 count is a-rocking, don't come a-knocking.

Im clueless on that 2nd sketch.

From what I was told these were pretty much the characters they couldnt do sketch cards of-
Claires friend that video taped her
Claires brother
The Hatian-even tho some have slipped through.

Mr. Muggles wasnt suppose to be done but Leah Mangue and I think another artist or two managed to sneak some by.

Thats a nice looking future Peter sketch but doesnt do it justice when theres no scar on his face.

I emailed Howard to ask him which character he was shooting for when drawing that.

Howard replied and said its a sketch of Parkman.

Parkman? Wow, I was seeing KD Lang.

no offense to Howard who probably has more artistic ability in his pinkie finger than I do in my entire body, but that looks nothing like Parkman- the likeness simply isn't there.

I think that I'm going to auction off or trade the sketches that I have and finish up the autos.

All in all, its a nice set, flawed yet nice. The autographs are great in that all 10 of them are pretty major characters. Some of the sketches particularly those by people like Sean Pence and Cat Staggs are simply amazing. There should have been more costume cards- having only Claire, Hiro, Isaac, and Parkman is too little even with variants.

I have a ton of issues with this set as well but from talking with people it seems that we were lucky to get what we did.

Some fault lies with Topps, some with NBC in the approval process of what Topps was able to do with the set, and the artists that simply did chicken scratch to get by on.
