hi everyone...im thinking of selling my big high end rcs on ebay(zetty Premier, kovy SPA, some other nice stuff)...How should i approach selling these? heres what i have been thinking

1.) start them very low (.99) and set a reserve price of what i would be ok with them selling for

2.) start them high being what i would want them to minimally sell for, and then see if i get any bites, or possibly get multiple bids..

3) just have a BIN as per what i want for them

4)just start it low and see how high they go...

any thoughts are much appreciated..thanks!!

Craig

personally, when I place high end cards on eBay, I would use your 2nd choice. I don't want to run the 'risk' of selling a high card for just a couple of bucks.

What I do is start them higher then you want (called fishing) with a Submit Best Offer feature. This way you are not obligated to sell them unless someone hits your BIN or offers you something your willing to take.

If you really want to know roughly what you will get, just look at previously completed items and that will give you a good idea on what your card will sell for.

If they are cards you don't want to liquidate the BIN with Best Offer feature is my favourite way to sell - bar none! Wait for a 10 cent listing day and pop them up.

If you are just looking to move them fast then the 99 cent opening bid will get more people interested, and based on my experience tends to yield the best results for desireable cards.

thanks to everyone for their suggestions!! i think ill be listing with a BIN and best offer this weekend...if you have any interest in some nice rcs, my ebay id is crmac10...look for em on the weekend....thanks again!

Yay! So what do I win? :D ;)

I agree with this but I'd wait for a 10 cent listing day because the BIN now listing fees are high. Don't put your BIN too high though because people will just think you're being obnoxious LOL

Yeah, I was actually going to point that out too. Good call. Don't put your BIN at an outrageous amount. It scares people off. Everytime I see a card that has a BIN of like twice its worth I just think "this sellers on crack, he wont accept fair offer."

If the card usually sells around the $100 mark, a BIN of $125 or 130 with a SBO feature is fair.

I wondered about this too - with the 10 cent listing day though, there tends to be lots of nice stuff listed, albeit generally high priced. Would that dilute out demand for any high end cards that any of us would want to sell?
