Hmm, my question of the day...

I was just looking at some of these Limited Logos from the CUP and there are some really nice patch pieces, which got me thinking for hard signed patch cards do you think the players sign them with the patch already embedded in or do you think they just sign the cards and then the patches are added in later? I can imagine if I was a player signing some of these cards I'd be like, "that's pretty cool" if I saw a nice patch.. lol Anyone know?

Lionel, I'm pretty sure the patches are already in the card before they are sent out to the players. I don't know this for sure, I guess I always just assumed as much... Mike

Mike and Lionel, they are definitely in them beforehand. I've had a couple where the marker actually touched the patch swatch when the players signed over too far...

It would probably be difficult for companies (read: UD) to create a method for affixing a swatchless auto card to the thicker back half needed to hold the jersey swatch.

When I spoke to Alex Tanguay last year, he confirmed that the athlete signs the card after they've been created. He was all excited talking about the 1/1 Ultimate Logo card in my sig.....LOL
