Hobby History Help

I'm in a public speaking class and I have to give a 7 minute speech. So, I figured I'd do it on the hobby. Looking to do a brief history before jumping into today's market. Can anyone help me out a bit on the history aspect? Thanks.

My plan was to start off saying how it's perceived as a children's hobby but how it's a very big business. Start off with how it began, get into the 70's/80's OPC craze, 90's & UD before getting into the GU phase. Want more info on the pre-GU stuff.

That helps a little bit but I was looking for a bit more info on the early days of the hobby as a launching point.
