Does Ultimate have the bigger hits?
Yes, you can pull NHL shield cards. That said, I think Premier offers much better value consistently. Ultimate is very hit or miss. Engrained was alright, but I’d still take Premier over it any day.

What kind of big pulls can you get from Premier?
Most would say the main draw are the mega patches. They are extremely collectible and desirable and can command big money. They are really awesome cards. If you go in my Personal Collection album in my signature and go to my Niklas Hjalmarsson PC, you will see on the third page all of the mega patches of his I have accumulated.

Additionally, most people love the Acetate Rookie Patch Autos. They’re stunning cards and often times provide excellent patches. Mix in some high-end autograph content and other low-numbered memorabilia cards and it makes for a great product. With the new reduced price point, I think it’s one of the best products out there.

I'm a little confused. Which company does Dr. Price own? I saw on Facebook he has some new product coming out this summer. What is this?

President’s Choice Trading Cards. He still has a big supply of memorabilia, so he creates lines of cards to sell directly to collectors along with a boxed product here and there.

When you say he sells directly to collectors, what does that mean? He does not sell boxes of packs?

The majority of the cards he produces are just put on his website. The collector directly buys the specific card they want directly from Dr. Price. He has done a few traditional boxed products, but his main business model with the company is selling individual cards directly to collectors. Just check out his website and you'll see exactly what I mean. You can look through tons of cards he has made and place your order through his site. He then mails you the cards you ordered.

Thanks for the info. Just found a nice Dit Clapper card. But doesn't his site become ultra busy as soon as he releases new cards? Or do you have to keep checking in to see any new cards he might have?

Yes and yes, haha. But he is usually quite good about letting people know when new cards have been posted or are coming.

What is the size of Presidents Choice cards? Are they like The Cup similar to 180 pt?

While I haven't owned/seen all of the sets, in general President's Choice cards are fairly thick, yeah. I'd say about the size of most The Cup cards. 180pt would be my best technical guess on most Presiden't Choice cards, at least the ones I've personally held in my collection. So if you're looking to store them in toploaders/magnet holders, 180pt is fine for these cards.

Are President Choice cards considered in the hobby as legitimate? Not that they aren’t real, just how are they viewed in the hobby?

Yes, they are a legitament. I don't see why any collector would see them as illegitimate. They are unlicensed, sure, but there cards are top notch and that's how this awesome card manufacterer should be viewed in the hobby, in my personal opinion.

The cards themselves sell well on the secondary market, so "out there" in the open world that is this hobby, I feel like they do carry a lot of well-deserved stock in this industry.

People will love & hate cards and the card companies, but I don't think their legitamacy should come into question. Again, those are just my personal views on this highly debated topic. In my collection, I've never considered Pres. Choice cards illegitamate or "second tier" in anyway. They are some of the top cards in my collection. I think there are many collectors out there who hold this same view.

Very much up for interpretation. Some folks say anything not licensed isn’t legit, others would say anything produced by a mainstream company like PC is legit. It ultimately comes down to your own view though, as everyone should collect what they want to collect. Some people will have cards from companies like PC and Leaf on their checklists and others won’t.
