I am looking at starting a Hockey Card Hall of Fame project. More details to follow!

At this point I am looking at compiling feedback from collectors! So please post comments on your thoughts. You could include feedback for several years or just one year.

Some years are simple such as 79-80, as the OPC Gretzky will certainly be the first card inducted into the Hall of Fame.

To get the project off the ground I am looking at focusing on the 80's, 90's and 00's. I'm hoping to expand once the project gets off the ground!

I like this! I think you'll find that most of the major RCs (Crosby Cup, Orr, etc.) will be elected to the Hall of Fame, but there may be some oddballs that deserve some consideration as well.

1990-91 Pro Set Stanley Cup hologram: This was the first major release chase card and still commands a pretty penny today. Some of us have opened cases trying to pull this - and some of us have failed. :(

1990-91 Pro Set #1 Ray 'Borque': It's a common card, but it be the best representative of the brief error craze that dominated the hobby. Hockey was never impacted by it in the same way that baseball was, but it should not pass unnoticed.

Here's a fun one:

1994-95 Select #155 Brian Boucher - You may not remember, but this card sold for some rather stupid prices for a brief period. To me, this card embodies the frenzy to collect the hottest new rookie, even though there are a bazillion copies and the player ends up being a run of the mill back up.

Lindros score and the Bure Young Guns were such big cards way back when I was ten. Hard to believe I never pulled one considering how many were out there!

This is an Awesome idea! If I had any input if say the 03-04 Calder collection Autograph Andrew Raycroft. I busted like 8 boxes and pulled one. So hard to find. And the 03-04 Crown Royale Rookie Red /5. I pulled the Higgins a long time ago. I was so excited.

Here are some items I think should be included from the 90's:

90-91 Pro Set- one of the most commonly collected sets and really started the collecting boom of the early 90's
90-91 OPC Premier- was THE set to have back in the day
90-91 Bowman Tiffany- first real parallel set
91-92 Score Bobby Orr Autos
92-93 Score Maurice Richard Autos
94-95 Be A Player- first one per pack auto set
96-97 Upper Deck Jerseys- first GU as mentioned above
96-97 Black Diamond- first significant set with tiers and SP's

I forget which years in the 90s they both are but they are both from different Pinnacle sets...

Pierre Turgeon/Little Patrick Kane

Olaf Kolzig/Hot Dog

01-02 Titanium Ty Conklin 1/1 RC has to be there. If a Conklin card can sell for $2000, it must be pretty special ;)
