Hockey Day in Canada - what are your plans?

Planned to stop off at Stadium Sports cards but weather and roads are crap so I will have to fire up the BBQ in a snow storm for a few T Bones, watch the habs early game and the probally drown my sorrows in a bottle of Crown LOL

The cards come in 100-pack boxes. If you get three of them in a row, the three packs will combine to make the whole set.

I just opened a whole box and have made sets to give to most of my customers.

Play some shinney at 2pm..Hit up MLS, then a full evening of hockey on the tube..Happy Hockey Day Canada..

I got the posters, but no mentioned on the UD website. Between UD and Universal it is hard to get something like this right I guess! Also, I'm a little surprised they are at Big box stores too. Man, even this day isn't an excuse to visit the local hobby shop. Oh well, we just keep pluggin' away.

Some of the big box stores don't even know that they're involved. Went to Wal Mart this morning and spent 15 min waiting at customer service while they tried to track a manager down. They didn't have a clue about this, and said they didn't have any cards. Then they tried to tell me that it must be in the US only, even though I printed out the website ad to show them!:|:| So now it's off to MLS to pick up a pack (not my 2nd choice, just that Darren doesn't open before noon ) & hopefully get out of the store w/o spending too much.

TRU here had them here in Winnipeg (near polo park). gave out one without needing to make a purchase. that was good enough for me.

Just got home from AJ's Sportsworld and meeting Dale Hawerchuk-great event, great start to Hockey Day. I am now about to bust an old 03-04 OPC box with my four year old son while watching the Habs/Sens.
Sundin returns tonight and the battle of Alberta later...you cannot beat it!

Dan, too bad you couldn't make trading night this week. Considering your advanced years shouldn't you be leaving those brutal shifts for the younger guys. :beer:

I spent the day wondering around the city hitting up my local card shops to grab the Upper Deck National Hockey Card Day packs...it was lots of fun. Then drank beer and watched hockey...I guess it was more like a very vivid dream LOL
