I actually got to know Shawn and I must say he is one of the nicest people you could meet. His collection bar none is better than anything I have ever seen. I wish I could afford something from that auction as I would buy it in a heartbeat.

More importantly, I wonder how much that 87 Cup/500 goal jersey is going to end up selling for. What an amazing piece of hockey history.

And please Panini, if you're going to buy stuff to cut up, I plead with you not to buy pieces like this with such historical significance...though I'm pretty sure a Gretzky collector with huge coin will end up winning it.

My guess is the cup jersey goes in the $250K range. Maybe higher. I don't think the card companies will go for anything as most are going to go through the roof.
