Holy e-bay price batman! Is Ladd this hot?

Vic,

You think that's sick, at least you're not trying to collect him. Maybe I should just pick a different player?

Well his 199s went from 50-60 to now 100-250 so I am not surprised. I was watching it, was going to bid.....that is until it went insane :)

Not sure if you found my post offensive or something. :o

Just saying that almost 700 dollars is a great amount of money, for any card, but especially for a Ladd. Even high-end rare vintage players like Orr, Richards and so on don't sell close to that high.

Thats just stupid money for a prospect that had 11 points in the regular season last year and a whopping 5 points in the playoffs! What a joke. I really had him on my list as an investment possibility (you know, like if I could pick him up cheap or whatever...), but with sales like this there is absolutely NO investment potential for that card. He is never going to be as good as Staal, not even close so paying $700 for that card is just absolutely dumb in my opinion. Some people have too much money. He is a 30 goal scorer at best, and that might just be once or twice in his career...

I think it has more to do with the parallel set than the player. Surprisingly, the gold rookies from The Cup seem to be selling very well.

On a side note...it seems that almost all rookies from The Cup have taken a big jump in the last week or so. There was a nice 3-colour Parise sell for over $300 the other day.

He's been going up quite a bit lately. I've gotten outbid on several cards that I thought would be no problem. What's odd is that the spike appeared to happen about 2 after the Cup came out, not right after the playoffs.
