I hope that this is the right location for this tread... not sure..

How do you ebay? When you see something that you really like and want, how do you do it?

Do you just bid what you are willing to pay and hoping that someone else doesn’t come and grab it for a extra couple of dollars what you were willing to pay?

Do you just put a extra high amount on it, hoping that someone doesn’t bump it up too high..

Or do you wait till that last 30 seconds to pop in that winning bid?

Just wondering what everyone else does. I have been after getting burnt on so many auctions now I am starting to wait till the last few seconds to bid!!.

Thanks
Justin.

i think it's always best to put in a bid in the last minute...that's probably your best chances of winning.

There's always "sniping" programs out there as well that will automatically put in your bid with a few seconds remaining in the auction. They'll charge you a very small fee if you win the auction, if you don't...there's no charge..
I've probably won a bunch using sniping.
But of course...it always gives you a little rush when you keep refreshing making sure you're the high bidder

I usually snipe the high-end stuff, but for low-end I usually just place my bid and if I get outbid, I just wait for the next one.....Mike

PS - I use auctionsniper.com because I am not always online when the auctions end.

I'm with Aaron and Mike here, sniping programs work best, especially the high end stuff. It takes away from the shill bidding some unscrupulous sellers do.

I usually set limits as to what I am comfortable with & then I snipe or use a sniping program but usually I use the sniping program if the item gos off while I am asleep :)

I try to bid as late as possible on auctions I want to win, and I bid something I'm confortable with.

I'm only buying Pouliot true RCs right now, and there's nothing undre /249, so if I lose, there will be another one available soon.

But, I did got into some bidding wars for my Odjick Emblem&Number, and my Tretiak glove card.

I snipe almost exclusively. Every once in a while I'll throw down an opening bid where the starting price may seem a little high (but still lower than I'm willing to pay) in hopes that the seller won't pull the item, but I still set up a snipe as a safeguard.

Been sniping for over a year and won't ever go back to manual.

snipping is the way to go and since so may people is use them I think it is not hurting sellers as much as some people might think(or once didi)....it has actually cost me twice (at least) as a buyer...paid well over book a 03-04 UD Ice Hossa frozen fabrics patch because some one placed another high bid
