For the longest time, I used FedEx because of a discount that I got with them, but that has now ended, so I am curious what is a the cost to send registered within Canada, and what options are there for sending tracked to the USA? I know they no longer allow registered shipping to the USA, and the mindless twits at the postal outlet up the road from me said that the only tracked option was ExpressPost at a cost of $24.99 plus tax, which is a crock, because I have never been able to get tracking on ExpressPost across the border in the past (which is what she said was the reason for axing the registered shipping)....as well she tried to tell me that at $24.99 , ExpressPost was only $1 more expensive than Registered shipping was, which is an out and out lie. So what are my fellow hobbyist Canadians using for shipping to the USA, or should I just stop selling to the US altogether?

There is something called Track Pack or at least that is what my PO calls it. It varies depending on where in the US it is going but usually is only $10-$15 max...only issue is it only comes with $100 insurance and you can't add to that.

Since registered mail was suspended, I have been sending the cheapest way I can and still get a tracking number (for high end stuff)... it's either USA Tracked Packet or Light Packet and it's right around $17-$18 with 5% GST included (don't have PST up here...)

Once a tracked package crosses the border you should be able to still use your Canada Post tracking # but on the USPS site.

Is the insurance really worth purchasing? I have been told by many people that Canada Post will not insure sports cards. I have never had to try to make a claim, so I this is just what I have been told.

Not trying to hijack the thread , just curious.

In response to the OP, as mentioned . to the US the best is small packet ($16). To Canada, best option is registered, approx. $10.00
