Connecticut-based internet startup is looking for a web programmer to assist with the build of a user-generated video content website. Construction is already underway, but additional help is needed to meet our launch date. Applicant is not required to be in Connecticut.
Our server uses Ruby on Rails 3 with Mongodb for our database. On the front end we use HTML, CSS and javascript with the jQuery toolkit.
Prior experience with HTML/CSS is required. Experience with jQuery, Ruby, Rails, and mongodb is a plus. A background in other web frameworks/databases and willingness to learn these technologies is also acceptable. You must have Photoshop in order to do this job efficiently.
This is a good opportunity to get started with a website that has the potential to grow rapidly. In return for work done and continued participation, course credit can be arranged, or a percentage of the company's ownership will be given, or we might be able to work a cash deal.
