Makes you wonder how serious Vancouver is.
He could have been that piece they needed, he fit real well with the Sedins adding another scoring threat.

Great pickup for the Canes. We needed a 2nd or 3rd liner with Cole out and Carter has the ability. Hopefully being on a team that has a chance at the playoffs will wake him up!!
A 5th rounder is far less than I expected to give up to get a rental player of decent caliber!

I imagine that the reason Vancouver wasn't involved on this one was because of cap restraints. Carter is signed for next year if I am not mistaken.

Wow, great pick up for the 'canes. That's a lot less than Calgary's rentals 
. I actually think that perhaps the Flames' team chemistry was upset by that trade but that's for another thread!
I like Carter, though I don't think it will push the 'canes over the top. Too many pieces missing from last years winner.

He's not performing near his level with the Canucks last year, and Pyatt has fit nicely in with the twins, so not surprised at all that Vancouver isn't interested in him... plus he was a whiner when discussing his salary.
He'll take a big salary cut next year unless he has a seriously hot playoff run.
