I've never had more fun (or been more broke) then since I started focusing heavily on comic Keys but they are so worth it. I constantly look at them! These are literally pieces of history that won't ever be reproduced or have another exact same set produced next year. And amazingly, most just continue to go up in value!

So here's August's loot (sorry for the pics- don't have a scanner right now so I am just using the pics from the auctions I bought them):

Captain America #100- 1st Captain America in his own series

Fantastic Four #52- 1st appearance of Black Panther

Tales of Suspense #57- 1st appearance of Hawkeye

Amazing Spider-Man #121- Death of Gwen Stacey

Iron Man #1- 1st issue in his own title!

and the reason for the title.... 3 Key DAREDEVIL ISSUES!

Daredevil #131- 1st appearance of BULLSEYE!

Daredevil #168- 1st appearance of ELEKTRA!

Daredevil #1- 1st appearance of DAREDEVIL himself!

That's it for now, thanks for looking!

Very nice, Great selection, I love the IM #1 such a great and under appreciated issue.. The FF 52 is going to jump as it is going to soon be a big movie....rumor has it. I think that DD#1 is the most under valued key character book out there. I think that is the best investment book out there.

Oh hands down. Once DD is rebooted and they do it properly, they will probably make a trilogy and it will double or triple in value. It's definitely the best bang for your buck right now.

I'm happy with my copy... if it wasn't for the top left corner it would probably be a 7.5, maybe even an 8.

A 9.0/9.2 goes for around $4,500-$5,000.... I think that'd be a good investment.

Very nice stuff Ernie - just remember on the broke item - you're about to get married. That either means start to cut back, or buy as many as you can while you're still a free man - your choice!

Does it make any sense that I am doing both right now?

Interest in DD is rising already, given their strong showing at the Harvey Awards this week.

Love me some comics.

Very sweet.....Just started getting BACK into comics myself......Loving the new Swamp Thing on the DC New 52........flashing back and starting to get me some of the earlier Swamp Thing Titles now.......I'd love to see him get a new movie.....also collecting the Mars Attack IDW series.......The artwork is amazing and the storyline is surprisingly good and contained per issue. I recommend it.....

I'd really like to see this section of HI get busier with comic talk.

very nice selections.i'm a huge silver age fan myself.i have most of what you have shown above, but i don't have anything graded.the whole grading thing is kinda iffy for me.i realize that it insures a solid return on investment, but i don't know if i can handle sealing my childhood memories in plastic and not being able to look through them again,or smell them for that matter:)
either way,you are right, there will never be another era like the Marvel silver age.classic and timeless all at once.:corn:

Me too, that's why I am constantly showing my pickups- to try and spurn some more comic involvement here.

I did the whole card thing for years- and while it can be absolutely great, and lots of fun- I found myself bored to tears with the same stuff year in and year out. How many autos of the same guys did I need? How many Sign of the Tims autos, or even Shields/Property Ofs did I need? The repitiveness just did me in.

Comics have always been my thing anyways but I took my level of involvement to a whole new level and I'm glad I did.

I'm looking at it as a fun time for me and an investment in my kids futures.....they'll have something we both like and if times do get tough financially, MAYBE they can rely on our hobby as a backup financially.....BUT right now it's all about me having a blast reading up on some comics I need to get before they skyrocket.........little by little.
