I have $1000 for investment cards....

Looking to invest $1000 from a home sale to some investment cards. Besides the obvious of McDavid, I’d be interested to hear some opinions of how you would spend it. My gut is telling me a Scheifele 3 or 4 color Cup /99, as its affordable and would be prime for a huge jump if they win the cup. That is what stands out to me....

Get a nice BGS Crosby YG, whatever grade you can afford at that price. Just my opinion, it'll end up a classic and timeless investment card.

I'd go with a graded Gretzky. Not only a great investment, but it's a display piece you can treat like art. Iconic card that most people will instantly recognize.

You could probably get a Topps 8 for that.

Another option would be to buy a bunch of newer speculative cards. Guys like Barzal, Boeser, etc.. Here I'd recommend diversifying.

You could also start a collection of autos of Hall of Fame players that may not be with us much longer or recently passed away. I have a Howe and a Beliveau. Really glad I have both in my collection.

Good thought, I was thinking a PSA 10 Crosby and Mcdavid and spending the extra 2-300 to have the pair.

LEGO isn't a bad idea but the investment pieces that actually make money are some of the most expensive, it's not easy or cost effective to acquire some of them and make a decent flip.

Things like Funkos are currently ruling the market and are something you can really turn a HUGE profit on. If you know what you're doing and which one's to buy when they release, you can really make some loot.

G1 Transformers, He-Man, M.A.S.K., Voltron, Thundercats, Ghostbustrs, TMNT and of course Star Wars, will always pull bank if you own the right pieces.

I second the Lego suggestion. I myself have invested tens of thousands in it and I am very happy that I have.

My only suggestion in doing so is you only buy the expensive sets($300+). The expensive sets are produced far less and are more desirable. Also, stick with the popular licenses like Star Wars. Never buy a set when it just comes out and always be aware of what the rumors are in terms of what sets might retire next.
