I need my fellow collector's opinions

Do I go with the 08/09 Patch #/66 or the 10/11 Rarity #/6?

As some of you know the main focus of my collection is that I collect 6 players (Gretzky, Howe, Orr, Lemieux, Messier, Yzerman) and I make mini sets with them; Property Of, Limited Logos, Titlists, Hardware Heroes, etc.

So a while ago I decided to do Honorable Numbers. Luckily for Gretzky, Howe, Messier, and Yzerman they are all pretty low numbered which appeals to me. Orr doesn't have any Honorable Numbers so that just left Lemieux. Being numbered to /66 I had to find a way to make the copy I chose unique. At first I thought to find one of the 66/66 copies but have never seen one. Then I came across some awesome patches in the 08/09 product that Gomaz was kind enough to authenticate for me.

For me the best of the 3 is the last one with the NHL Shield and face. I decided to keep that copy and figured I would at some point sell or trade the other 2 (Istill have all 3, lol).

Fast forward to this past year and UD did a Lemeiux /6 and I was lucky enough to recently acquire this:

So my question is this; do I go with the 08/09 patch or the 10/11 rarity?

Here are the other 4 to help you decide which fits best:

I would appreciate as much feedback and opinions as my fellow collectors can offer.

Thank You,
Sean

Depending on your collecting habits I was thinking of keeping the one #/6 and the best copy that is #/66. Just an idea the 2 are appealing for different reasons and they are really different which is nice.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Wow,those are all beauties....I would for sure keep the 10-11 numbered to 6....but i would also keep the 08-09 #3,the one you like....Its to unique to let go and the move the other two versions.......or just keep the 10-11 numbered to 6 to keep the mini set really low numbered....I would love to own one of those 08-09!!!!!!!!

I was absolutely going to go for the /66, mainly because that's part of the theme with the honorable numbers - serial matches the player number. Then I realized that your Wayne is /9 so since it already doesn't fit the theme I'd head for the /6 as the rarity can't be matched.

The one that sets off the tuning fork in your spine. That's what you focus on. The rest...well, there's no real need to get RID of anything, is there? ;)

Keep the 3rd one /66 for the set

Keep the Hand Numbered one and start a new Mini Set

Problem solved :)

Wait a minute....the patchwork on the /6 blends better with the others....

I'm no help

D

PS Very nice cards!

Sean, All four of the Lemieux cards are awesome, but I like the swatches and the design of the card MUCH better on that #/66 set. To me, it's a no brainer to keep that last one and trade/sell the rest. Great cards by the way!!!

I would like to answer your question but afraid my brain would explode.

Seriously hard decision, the /66 is the nicer card by far but value wise the /6 would probably hold more demand.

Tough call!

Love version #3. Saw it at the last Toronto expo I think. If you ever want to move one of the other two let me know!!

I really appreciate everyone's feedback and I have decided, as several people suggested to keep the /6 AND the /66 one with the shield and face.

I will therefore make the other 2 /66 available ft or fs.

Thanks again for everyone's input.

-Sean
