Hey guys been sitting here waiting on a international regular mail package for about 7 weeks... I usually don't freak out but this feels like a long wait. What should I do? Should I continue to wait another week or should I try to work something out? I have already contacted the other party and they claim it was shipped when stated. Thoughts and advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I know that its mine packages we are talking about, and it shouldnt take this long. But it has happend to me a couple of times when I have shipped to Canada. Usually it takes 1-2 weeks. But I hope you get them soon. I promise you that I shipped them out as I said earlier. But it hasnt happend to me that the package I was shipping out didnt get through to the reciever. So I hope you get them soon.

If it's a high-value card and was marked as such on the customs form, chances are our good friends at Canada Customs are holding on to it and just itching to slap you with duties.

One more time - it's not duty - it's GST or HST. Duty is something that is paid specifically for that item. Since the cards were made in Canada, USA or Mexico, there is no duty on that item.

And if you don't like paying the taxes on the item that's coming, then don't transact outside the borders. It's the law, like it or lump it.

Well i have been shipping lots from New Mexico to Canada and have been averaging right at 30 days transit first class mail.

thanks

I usually transact outside the borders in the hopes that it will slip through. If you buy inside, you're guaranteed to get dinged, outside there's still a chance it gets through and you've "beat the man". That and the high CDN $ usually makes it cheaper to buy US, even taking shipping cost and potential taxes into consideration.

Canada post are amazingly slow right now, when I have posted from the UK the times run from 3 days to 9 weeks the average would be 4 weeks.

Posting to the US is pretty much a 7 day service max.

Thanks guys I will hold off for a week or two. Yes Christian this is about our trade I really hope the cards get here soon but I will just wait and see what happens.

Typically people tend to receive their package from 3-4 weeks when I ship from Shanghai to the US/Canada. Coming the other way takes 6-8 weeks.....sometimes more. China Post is downright awful which is why I have my packages shipped to Hong Kong. I've had a few packages coming over to China take infinity.
