Is Something Wrong with Photobucket?

Hi guys, have you experienced this too?

1/ SLow as heck. Very slow to load. It used to pretty speedy IMO

2/ My list of tags on the left hand edge is gone! I had to dig around to find them under MY HOME -- TAGS.
It is definitely not as handy as before and really kind of annoying


Is this a problem only I am experiencing?
 
I found the same problem last evening.When I first went on my tags on the left hand side were there.After a couple minuites they were gone and like you I had to rote around until I found my stuff.
 
ever since i signed up for photobucket a few weeks ago i've hated it. whenever i try to upload multiple pics, it takes forever and show them uploaded, but only about 1/3 of my pictures actually end up in the bucket. it's a good thing it's a free site or I would be losing it!
 
Mine is pretty finicky with Google Chrome, but it still works pretty well. It's perfect with Safari. I'm a fan of the redo. I think it is a lot easier to use.
 
My photobucket was weird a couple of weeks ago. All the thumbnails were really small, but when I kept refreshing my page it was back to normal. PB is pretty much inoperable with Google Chrome whenever I tried using it. I stick with Opera..
 
To the people having trouble with PB... Have you tried emailing them????

I was having issues with deleted items still showing up as boxes with a Image No Longer blah blah. Started on New's Year Eve (Thursday). Drove me crazy as I was attempting a major overhaul on my PB. Sent them an email on Saturday night (holiday weekend!!), and I had a response by Sunday morning from tech support saying that they had internally reset my cache - and did it work???

Um - less than 24 hours for a return email and the problem also solved?????
That is great service - especially considering the holiday weekend - when I am sure there is a minimal staff at best. So before the bashing begins - please make sure you have at least tried to have them solve a problem.

It also seemed to help with the overall speed, which does have issues at times. They also said that is always being worked on - Think about hopw much traffic and image loading is going on EVERY minute on this site!!!
 
I miss the tags being readily on display and I routinely have issues with the files not actually uploading. What is it with sites "upgrading" their servers these days?

I had the same thing happen with my PB when I changed some folder names and assumed that it would eventually reset itself. They didn't happen to mention whether they have a timed batch process to clear the cache or whether it has to be done internally by any chance?

If its something that corrects itself then I would just rather wait it out than add more work for someone else but if it has to be reset by one of the employees then I guess I need to contact them.

It was un-clear from the message wether they did it just to my personal account or as part of a larger group of users, I would still suggest contacting them if the problem exists today.

As far as why do sites continually upgrade???
Simply because the technology changes so often as new releases are implemented. With the scope of the internet - it is impossible to really know how a planned upgrade will affect EVERY part of a dynamic website like PB. Why does IE & Firefox and everything else upgrade.... simpley because they have to , to keep up with technology as well as hackers!!!
 
NEW PROBLEM

don't know if this is a temporary problem that is isolated

but as of right now I cannot upload pictures. It tells me my albums are invalid.
 
I haven't tried uploading recently but I know why Photobucket is all goofy all of a sudden. For a long period of time, a new version came out. The site would ask me if I wanted to switch to that layout (Facebook and Myspace did this within the past 2 years also) but I chose not to and stick with the existing design. Well they use this opt-in period for their beta period to make sure the new design works. All the people that use it are the beta testers.

Then, at some point in time (looks like it was a couple weeks ago at the most) the "beta period" ended and they batch updated everyone's account to the new design. I found it confusing at first because the menus were all different, but I got done what I needed to.

I don't think there would have been any problem if they left the old design up there for people to use, and then only make new accounts use the new design and older accounts could opt-in if they wanted, but what do I know?
 
Still can't upload, I get this error message

I think I need to contact photobucket cause there is a hole in bucket (so to speak). Does anyone know what their tech support email would be?

I search on the website but I cannot locate it (I love how all these service providing sites now make it super hard to contact them, it's like they really don't want you to bother them)
 
Photobucket is a prime example of a site that hired the bosses nephew to do a redesign, much like Beckett. What's to fix if it works?
