Is there a way to tell if you are a blocked bidder?

The reason I ask, I was trying to bid on this particular auction and Ebay told me the seller would not accept my bid??? I believe the seller is a member here, but I am not sure.

That's what I thought but I have no idea why. I have only ever left one negative to a seller. I know it wasn't this seller and that seller sold hats and ripped off me and a number of other buyers. Oh well, $25 more dollars left in my pocket.

It may not be personal. Sellers can set up Bidder Requirements to block potential buyers. ie, no negatives, etc.

I doubt that is it. I have a 100% rating of 478. The more I think about it, it was probably the result of one of those threads on here discussing ebay practices where myself and others have sarcastically asked people to block us from their auctions because we disagree with the opinions on different ebay scenarios, lol.

Edit: Just received a response from the seller. He has no idea why I am a blocked bidder. That leads me to believe it is likely the scenario above that caused it.

I don't get it! Unless someone was ripped off on an earlier deal, why block somebody from bidding on an auction because of a difference of opinion? I thought that the purpose of the forums was to allow discussion - agree to disagree etc.

I know I had a "thread exchange" with TheIcebox" here about knockoff jerseys and although I have not contacted him about any trades/sales, I would hope that this has not led to any ill feeling from him that would affect any future deals.

Some sellers use software and it can block bidders for silly reasons. Had that happen to me and after talking to the seller he "unblocked" me.

I mis-spoke myself on an old thread on here about how I leave shipping feedback and right away three people said they wanted to block me. A couple guys have ID's that were real close to known scammers, something like Sidney1987 and the sellers blocked all those names. Twice I've emailed people about me being blocked and they said no problem and let me bid. Its mainly to keep chuckleheads from playing games on their auctions.
