61 Points in 81 games. Outscored every rookie not named Matthews and Laine. Won MVP at the World Championships.

Seems like his prices should be more in line with Laine given the franchise he plays for, no?

The only reason he is ranking third on the Leafs in "hobby love" is because Matthews is the generational center we desperately wanted and Marner is Canadian. All of that top three are superstars in the making but Nylander should, at the very least, be on par with Marner but Marner will always get the edge for being Canadian.

Centres are also much less likely to fizzle out than wingers too. Nylander was a #8 overall, and Marner was a #4. Nylander is also a year older. Marner was also a Series 2 holdback, so his YG is likely to have a lower production run.

The Marner hobby love over Nylander is justified here.

Nylander is also heavily rumoured to be traded. I think the uncertainty about his status as a Leaf and where his destination will be are two factors keeping his cards from exploding. That being said, his SPA is selling at $100 or better, so that ain't too shabby either.

Agreed Nylander must get more credit since it´s very likely he will improve even better. Question about Marner, will he keep his production better. Usually Swedes youths get better when they learn NHL way. I was actually surprised Nylander doing that fine even there were Austin, Marner on ice. I know his father Mikael so I believe his son will do even better but Austin is King of the LEAFS. Winning gold and MVP from World Hockey Championship is a strong point for his future.

I think Nylander trade rumors are overblown, I would be shocked (and extremely disappointed) if Lou did something so drastic this early. He's untouchable in my mind.

That's a move you look at a couple of years down the road if you're in major cap trouble or still haven't added that big defensive piece by drafting or free agency, similar to the Hall situation in Edmonton.

Nylander is a versatile guy who may be our number two center in the future and is obviously very talented. I think the Leafs stay the course and continue signing depth players, drafting well, and developing in-house as much as possible before trading away a huge piece of the core.

Nylander is a center though?

Toronto will more than likely run Matthews-Nylander-Kadri down center for the next decade. With the occasional Pittsburgh scenario where Matthews and Nylander play on the same line.

If anything given that information you would think Marner would be more available than Nylander.

This has been the plan for some time. Babs has made reference to it several times as well (though Nylander is still slated to play on the wing next season.... but of course he'd say that, given that Bozak is still around).

In a few years, Matthews-Nylander-Kadri could be one of the best trios at center in the league, if not the best.

The Toronto media was suggesting him getting traded all season, that's the Toronto media :speechless:
Personally they gotta keep him with Matthews both had there best success together this year.

I could definitely understand the desire on Toronto's part to get a top pairing defenseman but their offense is set. Game breaking players can be had in the 15-20 spot in the draft. If a guy like Liljgren or Makar falls that far I can see Toronto being very dangerous in a couple seasons.

!00% agreed. Just perfect said:icare:

To trade Nylander would be really bad and sick. The guy is getting better alltime. I personally would love him join to Canucks, definitely! This guy gets hotter and Toronto is perfect ground for him. Lou must keep these guys Matthews, Nylander and Marner with Kadri and build up with a couple strong defensemen plus veteran as strong leader in a locker room. Thats all Leafs need! I love Leafs even I´m Canuck fan for life.

.

It was 1 or 2 guys that made mention of it, and kept beating that drum even though everyone knew it was absolutely ridiculous.

You don't trade rookies on their ENTRY LEVEL CONTRACTS who have point per game potential. It VERY rarely, if ever, happens.

Also, one of those media guys who threw that out there earlier in the year was Craig Button. He back tracked BIG time yesterday on the radio:

Button said today that he revised his thoughts on Nylander after his play down the stretch of the season. He also said: "He's so much better than Taylor Hall, it's frightening"

AND....

Today, Bobby Mac was on with Naylor & Landsberg who asked him about Nylander trade rumours and Mckenzie responded that they were completely media driven and he didn't think the Leafs mgmt. had any serious discussions about trading him.

I wonder why Im not surprised :box:..Of course they wont trade Nylander away..:D

his being underrated has mad my getting his cards for my PC easier, however he is for sure underrated

ZERO chance Nylander gets traded.

I agree, in fact there was an article posted yesterday I read, and they quoted Bob MacKenzie as saying there was absolutely no rumour leaked, or anything discussed from Leafs management on trading William Nylander, and that it was an entirely media driven rumour made up by the press. :snapout: I truly believe this to be the case, and that Nylander will be a stud for Toronto for a long time, and there is no way he's going anywhere.

The Nylander trade rumors are dumb and he is part of the Leafs core for many years. The only reason there where rumors was because some dumb *** in the Toronto Media said if Leafs signed Vesey Nylander would have been traded and also when he was playing on the 4th line at the beginning after coming back from injury everybody in the media blew out of proportion because they thought Babcock didn't like him or his style of play. But he has shown that he is part of the future and will be a top 6 forward for many years to come.

Out of all the Leaf rookies he is the one I have been collecting more. Good player and his cards sell for a good price.

He is a good player to collect and his stock will only rise with this young talented team.
