One of my first ever breaks was release night of 2016-17 Series 2. I liked the star potential of the Isles trio of Barzal, Beauvillier and Pulock, so I snagged the NYI in almost every T-Select I could. Little did I know that I'd hit an insert I'd never even seen before, and it end up being of one of the biggest rookies outside of someone named Auston Matthews. Nor did I think it would be a set I'd end up collecting. The rookie, was Mathew Barzel, the hit was his Rookie Materials Patch /25.
I tried selling it for awhile, but always had the price quite a bit above what they were going for. It was a card I knew I didn't really want to sell. Fast forward a couple months and I was able to trade for Tkachuk's RM /25. And I bought a couple more on ebay. After having a half dozen I checked the S2 checklist and made note of the guys I wanted and it officially became my second PC outside of YGs.
Fast forward a year and it's just about complete. I say "complete" but I only mean the guys I wanted to get, not the entire 41 card set. With only more player to go (Bjorkstrand) I figured I'd do my S&T now, who knows when it'll pop up at a good price.
So here it is...hope you enjoy:

I debated on doing the "set" again this year, but I'm a little bit of a nutbar, and don't really like sideways cards, so because of that I kinda sorta decided that I wouldn't do it...
...then I hit this in the first box of S2 I open. :|
