Looks like an interesting set, although I'm disappointed that Peter Taglienetti didn't make it. It's been a long time since there have been Doug Smail and Thomas Steen cards to chase. I wonder what the memorabilia is going to be like?

Got to love the inclusion of one of the greatest hockey names ever, Hakan Loob. Looks like a fun base set to build.
 
Color me uninterested. I do see will-411 stirring in the corner....MMmmm...new Hawerchuks....
 
Doubt I'll go for the base set, but I'll definitly chase after all the Jets autos and gu cards that are available
should be fun :D
 
The fact that they can't use Gretzky is a huge detraction to a set of this type- of course it was a detraction to all of their sets ever since they lost him to UD. Same thing with Howe. It blows that certain players are exclusive to a brand in my opinion.
 
It does lose luster not having Gretzky, but he isn't the only player that should be there. I don't know how you could not include Theo Fleury in the Flames team set. The last few years of his NHL career don't change the fact that he was one of the greatest Flames players ever.
 
we should start another 10 foot pole club
unless the GU is dramatically exciting and the pack price is dramatically reduced.
I'll be the charter member.
 
I'm liking the base set here a lot more than Legendary Signatures and UD Series 1. I grew up watching a lot of these guys in the late 80's and early 90's. I've always been disappointed when former Jets never got included in any of these sets by Upper Deck.
 
Like an out of work stripper, I'm left looking for a pole.

I won't be buying any.
But if you like those 20-35 players, dive right in.
 
Only one Jets memorabilia card isn't too good, but I will be going after the base set of this at least. Hopefully the autos have a nicer selection.
 
I'll definitely be putting a base set together but the memorabilia is very disappointing. I was hoping for a little bit more Jets stuff than just the Hawerchuk stick. I wonder what the pricing will be like? If it's comparable to H&P, it won't be that bad of a product. But if it's around Legends Classics, I'll probably have to acquire the 10 foot pole.

I'll pick up singles on eBay for myself and customers, other'n'that, I can't see any reason to crack this stuff. Maybe if the price drops by half.
 
1 Jets piece and 1 Nordiques piece?
That's it? I thought this product was going to highlight the now defunct teams from Canada. I can't believe ITG could only muster 1 measly Hawerchuk stick and 1 single game used traper/pad/blocker of Dan Bouchard (whoever he is :rolleyes: )
I think we've all had our fill of Leafs and Habs gu from last year's Original 6 product.
I am officially disappointed :mad:
 
Where the heck are all these Jets and Hawerchuk fans coming from??? It's disconcerting to my pocketbook at the very least.... :)

I'm surprised all they could muster of my man Hawerchuk was a game used stick card. They should have plenty of jersey material left over; they used a ton of Flyers stuff in 01/02, but only maybe 400 swatches worth. I can get them a GU helmet or gloves if they want it!

Hopefully there is a Defunct Team History triple auto card or something similar!

I do have to agree as well that the memorabilia CL is offering more of the same guys again and again...

i agree , i would have bought 1 box or 2 if there would have been more nordiques gu card only 1,not too many canucks-too

a triple stastny jersey linemates would have been great, i do agree that we havent seen our share of leafs and habs gu in the last couple of year

in the forever rivals set they could have inclued a couple of montreal-quebec cards , that was one of the best rivalries ever.

dont count on me to buy any of this
