Over the last few months, I've been picking up various ITG Buyback and Great Moments in Hockey History cards that have interested me from this set. I was very excited to snag an important piece of Blackhawks history. That is, of course, until the card arrived.

Canada Post or USPS decided to play a trick and process this slabbed card through their sorting machines. Here is the end result...

A little sneak peek (some text from the back of the card visible)

The back of the slab got a bit scuffed up

And the real damage to an otherwise amazing "trick"

Oh...and it's serial numbered 8/10 (Bill Mosienko's jersey number). And yes, I do care about that sort of thing. :p

I don't even know what to do about this. Do I even bother telling the seller about this?

I suggest asking ITG if there's anything they can do to help. Be prepared to hear "no" as an answer, but they've always done their level best whenever they can.

I agree ask Dr price he might be able to help since it is technically still encased. He might not be able to help but if anyone is willing to try its itg. If i remember right he was asked before and said they couldnt do it because ir runs the risk of people changing or altering the cards. as i lentioned being still encased might help. If he can't I agree just carefully remove it, keep the tag and put it in a one touch or nice hard case.

i agree the only thing you can do is ask itg if they can re slab the card, its clearly not the sellers fault as it was sent in a bubble mailer. its obvious its the post office fault but theyll probably put the blame on the other psotal service as you cant prove in which country it happened

good luck

guess canada post wont do anything about it? maybe even cover the cost of your 25$ reslab? worth a shot at least, worst they will say is no

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'll send an email to customer service to see if they can help me out. At least I got the card for cheaper than I expected. With the reslabbing fee (if they can do it) it'll still come out to less than the max bid I had placed.
