Shortly after the release of Lord Stanley's Mug, an ebay seller listed the Evgeni Malkin Auto & Memorabilia 1/1 as an auction.

Starting bid was $89.99. Myself and another bidder both put in bids right at the close of auction and I won it for $94.99.

Purchased a couple of other cheap autos from the Seller and asked for combined shipping. They never responded so I just paid the full price.... because something didn't seem right about this seller and I worried this would happen. Right after I paid I received a rambling message that said, in short, that the Malkin card had been stolen.

Seller claims they were at a card show that day, took it from the case after it received a bid & it must have been stolen from their table.

Things happen, so I hate to unfairly accuse the Seller. But I'm skeptical about this one.

The other cards I won were not stolen. Could it be that the seller was not happy that the card finished only $5 over their starting bid?

Anyway... I doubt the card will ever bee seen again but I'd be interesting in knowing if it shows up anywhere.

thanks

Or, they sold it at the show, and forgot to take the listing down before it ended? Not much you can do about it, so I'd leave them proper feedback, and move on. You can always watch their listings to see if it miraculously reappears relisted down the road? Maybe, it really was stolen? If they are a reputable seller, then I guess you have to give them the benefit of the doubt? I have to wonder why they'd take it to a card show if it was listed on ebay?

This seller has 23 negs in the past 6 months all with comments that they never received their items, didn't get a refund, and seller ignores all emails. That there should tell you all you need to know about their character. If I was a betting man, I'd say they got a nice offer at the so called card show, and sold it. It's gone, and you've already left them negative feedback, so what else can you do?
