Hi Guys,

It's been almost a year since I last posted a Show & Tell thread, and my activity has been minimal to say the least, so as well as the "Show" there's going to be a "Tell" to explain why...

Facebook Friends and Twitter Followers will already know all of this..

My Dad was diagnosed with non curative Cancer in April 2012, and thanks to treatment he got to see his Grandaughter (my little girl) start school in September and spend Christmas with us last year.
The effects of his illness became more obvious in 2013, so priorities changed and I guess I felt guilty "enjoying" myself while he was going through everything. So I didn't pick up anything for a long while.
He was admitted to hospital towards the end of June 2013 (shortly before I went to Canada Day in London), and told that the treatment was no longer working and therefore it would not be continued.
After spending his last two weeks in hospital / a hospice he passed away on the 3rd September 2013.
Things have slowly returned to normal (well as normal as they can be), including enjoying this wonderful place that Jeremy provides for us and the hobby in general.

So thanks for the read, and thank you to those who have been and continue to be there for me when I need someone to "talk" to.

Now on with the "Show"...

I'm going to start with some Baseball, for those who don't know, I'm a Seattle Mariners fan

Purchased 3 packs of Panini Prizm Baseball from an eBay seller in France, this was the best pull....

Wade Miley Rookie Relevance Gold Prizm 04/10

Also picked up a few Mariners cards...

Couple of "Big Unit" RC's...

Fleer RC of possibly the best hitter the Mariners have ever had...

A Donruss 1989 The Rookies Ken Griffey Jr...

Now a few cards of some of my favourite current M's...

Topps Triple Threads Felix Hernandez 07/18...

and to finish the Baseball pick-ups, my favourite current Mariner, Mike Zunino...

Now on to the Hockey pick-ups...

I was chatting to a buddy of mine on Twitter about the film "Miracle", when I mentioned that I have owned 3 Tretiak Auto's, all of which I moved much to my buddys dismay, so I decided to right that "Hobby Wrong"...

Vladislav Tretiak Retro Inkredible

A few Mike Richards cards...

and a couple of shiny Prizm cards (Base, and Blue Pulsar - still looking for the others)...

and finally the Pavel Bure pick-ups (apologies for the group scans)...

A whole bunch of cards courtesy of Jimmy Saras

Some purchases from Checkout My Cards...

A few Pavel Bure RC's to go with the few others that I have...

A few Game Used cards featuring the Russian Rocket...

and a couple of signed cards...

and this last card, came via eBay and was pointed out to me by the Ru$$ian A$$hole #1's biggest fan (Randy - OrcaPod)...

Black Diamond Quadruple Diamond #049/100

Now on Saturday 2nd November, a ceremony took place in Vancouver retiring Pavel Bure's #10 Jersey, and thanks to Ken (Re-ac-tor) I now own these items...

Ticket from the game

Limited Edition Commemorative Magazine

Gameday Program via eBay

So there you have it, a massive thank you to everyone who contributed to this thread... (you know who you are)

Comments are welcome and appreciated but not expected.

Nice pickups and I'm sorry to hear about your father. My grandmother passed away a couple of weeks ago and it's been rough I hope it gets better quicker

Hi Benn, sorry to hear about your loss. Was wondering why I haven't seen much posting from you of late.

Some great additions, I like the variety of Mariners pickups and you have some nice Bures especially the retirement night stuff.

Congrats on the pickups, nice to see you back. Thanks for sharing and all the best going forward

Benn! Again sorry for your loss. hugs

Those are some pretty awesome cards!!
thanks for taking the time to scan and share with us!!

Good on Ken for hooking you up with the Bure Ceremony items!

Benn,

Once again, my most sincere condolences on the passing of your father. Blessings always to you and your family.

And even though you're not a fan, I still LOVE that UD Bloodlines card from 91-92. Ha!

Great haul, Jimmy is one of the BEST!

Thanks for all the comments Guys (& Billie).... except for Barrie's about the "Bloodlines" card, those cards are awful and cringe worthy.

Benn, please accept my sincere condolences on your father's passing. It's nice to see you are starting to enjoy the hobby again. Congrats on all the great additions to your Bure PC.

Dan.

Thanks for all the comments Guys (& Billie).... except for Barrie's about the "Bloodlines" card, those cards are awful and cringe worthy.

Hey Benn, super sad to hear about your pops. The big C is a rough thing to deal with. I lost a close friend within 2 months of diagnosis. It took some time to come to grips with. I'm not on Faceplace, or anything, but If you ever wanna talk hit me up here. Hope you're hangin' in there. Take care, brother.
