Hey guys I was just more less observing things over on the Beckett boards and i was jut thinking how much of a joke those boards are especially in the non-hockey boards. I mean the things that go on in the football forums are ridiculous and the baseball boards aren't much better. basketball boards are full of arrogant adolescents. The mst disturbing post was the baseball link to the football forum where some loser decided to show a pic of his boyhood . The hockey boards over there are pretty ok especially since Q took over. They still have the odd jokers over there though (JF comes to mind).

Anyhow what i'm really saying is that this board really rules and I WANTED EVERYONE TO READ THIS Because I want you all to pat yourselves on the backs. I have since being on these boards never seen a huge argument on these boards. Never seen any ripoffs (besides the Justin episode but that was resolved fast) and everyone here is friendly. I really do look forward to spending a good half an hr to an hr reading everyone's posts here after a days work. I would really love to get more involved and post more too but i work lots and time is tight for me. Anyhow we should all be proud of ourselves here and a SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT THANK YOU for Chris our #1 mod!!

You guys make this a great place, i wish i were rich i'd buy all the members here a pack of Ultimate or Premier as a reward.

Well said. Couldn't agree more.

I dabbled in the Hockey & Baseball sections over at Beckett a while back but was totally turned off (even their formatting ****s).

This board (the people, mods, traders, buyers and sellers) are LEAPS and bounds ahead of the beckett board. Not to mention the overall layout and ease of vaigating these boards makes for a far more enjoyable experience.

I've only been here for 2 months or so but have enjoyed it and met a lot of great hobbyists. Keep it up!

Agreed, HI is pretty awesome. Not only is everyone friendly and awesome traders, but day in and day out we see fellow collectors taking an interest and helping out in other people's set. I think that's great and what truly makes HI a community.

Also, I wish you were rich too because I never busted a pack of Premier or Ultimate in my life

Nice of you to say so. As I said recently over in that thar other board, it's largely because YOU guys are a good community. You give a darn, you watch out for one another, you're respectful (mostly ) of one another AND the powers that be - all of this is good cheese.

I'm workin' on Beckett. As another moderator said recently - it's no crime to be a schmuck. So, unfortunately, JF gets to stay. BUT...it does mean he and other would-be sillies have to be answerable for their actions. I think it's improving.

Football and Basketball over there are a mess.

Well, hockey on Beckett has always been leaps ahead of the other boards, though the baseball boards used to be somewhat useful - don't know if they still are since I don't have the time to cruise anything except hockey these days.

Having a moderator who is accessible and USUALLY reasonable is extremely helpful too - Clint and Al are busy guys and aren't always available to put out a conflagartion before it gets out of hand.

I still don't think it's fair to compare boards directly though (that goes for any board) since each is governed by ddifferent rules and a different vision - just accept each for what it is and use it to your advantage.

I did one transaction from the other boards and got ripped off. So that left a sour taste in my mouth. I like HI because everyone is friendly, willing to help out and are very knowledgeable about the sport and hobby.

There's a big reason the people who post here are here in the first place. Everybody's done a great job with the board - a place that actually holds the users accountable is a rarity in any type of message board these days.

I have very minor issues with the Beckett boards, mostly dealing with a few individuals, but overall, nothing major that irks me.

I've found something out, which I think holds true;

Beckett is full mostly of the younger collectors (8-18 year olds, with the exception of a minority), while HI has the bulk of the older crowd (16+). HI is obviously more mature to me, and I have only found a few bad apples in a a HI crowd.

One answer to the above is Beckett has more members, so obviously there's going to be more bad seeds there than at HI.

Beckett having more members is another reason why I still visit the boards daily; more information, more pics, more box breaks, more hobby interest. I still visit HI daily as well, and there's repeat info between the two, but I prefer HI over Beckett.

IAMCANADIAN is Dave ummm... capafferri? (I know I got that last name wrong) he's a young 'un himself who went through a bit of learning when he first got on Beckett. He is a pretty good kid though. I think he has checked this place out but mostly hangs his hat at Beckett.

As for that post... It didn't involve me so I just walked away...

Sorry you guys had to read that post, It was the first time I just wanted to go all out because Beckett Msg Boards is getting really sad with the amount of kids who are ripping people off and just have no respect, it's nice to come here and see the total opposite.

I probably will be turning my attention more to these forums from now on.

lol, in my not-so-self-imposed leave of absence from Beckett, I have been posting a lot more here lately. While there are less people here, it definitely seems like everyone that is here is great for the boards. Kepp up the great work everyone!!
