I've seen it all now!!!

I'd say that some people would do anything to get the upper hand so they could make a few dollars. Just think if the pack is full of just commons and the winner ends up paying big bucks.

Think about it. What better way to guarantee an unsearched pack? I for one would never buy a vintage pack from a loose box.

theres an ebay seller, the name slips me now, but I bought from him when topps pristine came out a couple of years ago. He was a dealer in unopened packs & wrappers. He wrote a book on them & had scads of them on the bay at the time.

I have a book called "The Unopened Pack, Wrapper & Display Box Guide" by Mark Murphy "The Baseball Card Kid". It's a really interesting read.

There's also a HUGE market on the non-sports part of the hobby. GAI has been doing this sort of grading for years. I actually have a graded unopened boy of Daktari from 1967(?) from GAI. Nice piece of history! :)

As an eBay Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
There are people that also just collect packs themselves. With some people trying to put together a run of complete Topps packs, just like they collect the sets.
