Jack Eichel Traded to Las Vegas

The Sabres were never going to get a deal that matched Jack's potential, let alone his body of work to date, given there are no guarantees he'll ever play in the NHL again. I think the Sabres got about as much as they possibly could have hoped for at the moment, though in the future, with a healthy Jack Eichel, it'll look really lopsided.

Good trade for the Sabres figuring that Tuch is a solid player, Krebs is still reaching his potential and both players can add depth to a team on the rebuild that looked so different two years ago. The now impact is solid for the Sabres, with an excellent chance of having a mid to high 1st rounder in the upcoming draft.

Vegas on the otherhand is betting on a successful surgery and having Eichel come back in solid form this year playoff (a push) but become the franchise #1 center that he is for the remainder of his contract. That is potentially a 100+ pt guy on a good team vs an 80 pt guy on a craptastic team that was the Sabres after they drafted him.

If Jack Eichel is healthy, then great deal for Vegas. We kind of know what Alex tuch is (decent player), Peyton Krebs may end up being good and the 1st Rd pick is a crap shoot. Eichel if healthy is elite... you have to roill the dice if you are Vegas and for the Sabres, it isn't a bad return considering where they were at in this saga.
