I honestly don't understand why Jagr would sign to NJ... They will have a hard time even making the playoffs, so why go end your career there instead of picking a contender team? Whaddayathink?

it's an easy gameplan.

1. sign with who pays the most.
2. get traded to a contender for picks come playoff time.
3. try to win the Cup.

I find all this New Jersey banter over the last couple years pretty funny.

They get Kovy and all you hear is how he does not fit their system and can't help them win moving forward as he is such a selfish hockey player and not a two way guy - then he leaves and all of a sudden they are no longer even a playoff team and have no chance to win.

I am not a New Jersey fan and really don't follow them all that closely but I don't think anyone can write off any team at this point. I don't for a second think they are going to lead the league in goals this year however they have won in the past after losing HOF type players and always seem to be very well coached and competitive.

Jagr isn't going to lead them to the Cup Finals but he can bring them some leadership on the ice and give them, at the minimum, a guy that can still be dangerous on the powerplay. Are Jagr and Ryder going to be able to pick up the slack for Kovy and Clarkson, probably not - but it isn't a ten game swing either. And Schneider makes them better at the back end so I just don't see them being that far off...we shall see I guess.

I heard he wanted to play on the team that had the 2 newfs and is hoping to get invited back to the rock for a big party lol. Thornton and a few of the Sharks had a good time here. All they need is to sign Cleary to join Clowe and Ryder and I have a new team I will be cheering for lol.
