Jolie to be the next Catwoman

This makes me slightly nervous. This kind of celebrity casting - "Who's hot right now? Cast them!" - has wreaked havoc on Batman in the past. Witness Clooney, Thurman, Jones, Carrey and Schwarzenegger - topical and hot, but not necessarily the right person for the part.
Jolie's got the right kind of confidence and sass for Catwoman. I just wonder if she'll fill the role, or if she'll rewrite the role to suit her own ends. I think Nolan has the respect of the cast and crew - his vision has delivered not only blockbusters, but good MOVIES. Under his direction, Ledger took a difficult role and reinvented it brilliantly. I think Jolie can do the same...but I remain anxious regardless.

I would regard it the same as I do Halle's performance--utter rubbish. I wish that Catwoman filth could be unmade.
If Jolie does get the role by some poor lapse of Hollywood's judgment, I pray it is for a spin-off or retelling, and in no way attached to Nolan's great movies. However, I did hear that there is a seemingly throw-away line with the word "cat" in it from The Dark Knight (forgive me, I'm probably one of the only people who hasn't seen it--but that happens tonight!).
In my eyes Jolie simply has passed her prime, not only in her acting but also in the attractiveness category. I see her more as a political crusader and general do-gooder these days, and frankly I'm tired of seeing her. Oddly enough I still like her hubby's movies.
The article says she is in final negotiations, so there is still a ray of hope that something will fall through!

She may be able to pull it off. I love Berry but she isn't the action type of actress, Jolie can pull off a sexy, action movies and be a villian. I still think it comes down to writing and producing. Berry was dealt a poor hand in all department. If not for her smoking hot looks and body then I would never have been able to sit through it twice
